New season, new teams, new players, welcome back to another season of Muslim Basketball! Last season we saw amazing talent week by week as the top players in the division played their hearts out trying to lead their teams to glory. These players went the extra mile for their team and without them on the court their teams would fall in shambles. The effect they have on the court can be seen through both what does and does not show up on the stat sheets; it's the little things they do that help fuel the fire of their teams. Through their leadership and great play, week in and week out, they hope to do everything in their power to elevate their teams to the next level. These aren't any ordinary players, these are MVP caliber type of players. Welcome to this week's edition of the KP MVP Ladder.

1. Daniel Goldberg, Mombasa

New week, same results. 10 points and 17 boards along with 2 blocks equals another solid game for Mombasa’s premiere big man. Big time game from Sadat filling up the stat sheet himself like the good old times. Mombasa hasn’t been able to be stopped by any other team so far and no one has had an answer for Daniel. Big time test coming up this week against a Cordoba team that has been tearing up the league themselves.

Last Week’s Ranking: 1

2. Luke Jensen, Cordoba

Cordoba came up big with a great win over Tehran and Luke Jensen was a big part of that. He finished with 12 points and 12 boards this week and has been averaging 16.5 points and 12.8 boards in his rookie season so far. Whether you believe it or not this Cordoba team has a lot of great pieces and with Luke playing the way he has been so far this season to lead the pack should bring nightmares to other contenders. Big time game this week against Mombasa, should be fun to watch.

Last Week’s Ranking: N/A

3. Mujtaba John S, Jakarta

Missed his game this week, his presence was definitely missed by his team as their offense struggled mightily.

Last Week’s Ranking: 2

4. Patrick Jaramillo, Kazan

Patrick makes his way back onto the ladder with an impressive performance this week finishing with 15 points, 7 steals, 4 boards, and 4 assists. The rookie’s now averaging 23.2 points and 10.5 boards as Kazan has had an interesting back and forth season. The key to their wins begins and ends with Patrick, when he’s hot the team wins when he’s not the team loses. Both Kazan losses this season came when Patrick shot below 25% from the field. It begins and ends with him as he takes a large portion of his teams shots. Kazan has the pieces and they’re in good hands if they keep going to the hot hand.

Last Week’s Ranking: N/A

5. Johnathon Mingo, Beirut

The final spot on this week’s ladder goes to John, not because he commented on last week’s post but because Beirut seems to have it figured out minus their two embarrassing losses earlier in the season. John’s shooting a career high over 50% from the field this season and finished this week’s game with 9 points, 13 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Beirut’s role players have been heating up themselves this season which makes John’s job easier and will help them come postseason time.

There’s a lot of talent out there and some players on the verge of climbing onto the ladder. Special shoutouts to Zain Abdeen and Billal Abbassi on some impressive performances this week. Suba you have not been forgotten nor slept on. Great job so far this season, 4 weeks left till playoffs! Applause
