New Jersey (North): Lahore (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 6 | 5-1 | 2 | It’s time to face the music, they have proved week after week they are the best offensive team in the league only scoring less than 60 once and even then scoring 58. This is a dangerous team to verse in the playoffs and if defenses don’t figure out a way to stop them I don’t see why they shouldn’t be playing for a title in November. In the meantime they shouldn’t have any trouble with Sarajevo this weekend after blowing them out in their last meeting. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 2 | Lahore does it again winning a key offensive showdown against Alexandria. Next week they take on a Granada squad that will test them in a similar way with their offense. Someone is going to have to come up with key stops because this one looks like it’ll go down to the wire. With playoff standing implications on the line, expect both teams to show up. Should be an interesting one to watch. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 2 | They lost one game all season long by 2 points but other than that have looked outstanding on the offensive end. It has become a challenge for opposing teams to figure out a way to stop their offense from dominating and they lead the league in points per game. I would not be surprised if this team makes a deep playoff run and makes it to the championship game. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 7 | Another great offensive performance out of this team. They just always seem to find a way to score the ball whether it be Anwar, Waqas, or Bilal with Bilal taking the reigns over in this win. They play Dhaka next game and this should definitely be an interesting one. If their offense puts up 60+ points again and they’re defense steps it up they have a real shot at taking this win. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 8 | Despite Anwar’s monster game the team fell just short. Both teams seems evenly matched and it was going to come down to who made the plays at the very end. Make no mistake Lahore is still a very dominant team and can take on just about anyone in the league. Next week they can bounce back against a struggling Riyadh team. If they turn the jets on early this one will be over before it starts. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 7 | Like I said last week, you put Waqas, Anwar, and Bilal on a team together and they will produce a great deal of offense. Anwar and Waqas both finish with double doubles with Bilal narrowly missing one and this team can really kill you on offense. They took the lead and never looked back and will try to keep that tempo up as they face Cordoba who is also coming off a great offensive game. Should be fun to watch. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 8 | Any team with Anwar and Waqas on board immediately brings concern to opponents. Add on Bilal Ghous and your looking at a solid trio. They can hurt a team by running up the score with their offensive prowess but will it be enough to help them finally break through and go all the way? As the common repetitive answer might say we’ll have to wait till week 1 for more in depth analysis. |
