LAST WK: 1

Another week, another win for Amman. They looked good on offense but made their mark on defense holding Mecca to 33 combined points. Their schedule has not been easy but they continue to find ways to pick apart their opponents. They are now the last remaining undefeated team and that record is going to be in jeopardy when they take on a hot Beirut squad next week. Game of the week here, you don’t want to miss it.

They lost one game all season long by 2 points but other than that have looked outstanding on the offensive end. It has become a challenge for opposing teams to figure out a way to stop their offense from dominating and they lead the league in points per game. I would not be surprised if this team makes a deep playoff run and makes it to the championship game.

Beirut keeps on rolling. Very dominant game against Istanbul handing them their first loss of the season. They took over this game early on in the second half and never looked back making it look easy on offense. Next week they take on a Amman squad that has been unstoppable. Stick around for this one, should be a close game.

Missing: Have you seen me? Reward- Meal at Kabab Paradise. Didn’t play this week and gave up what would’ve been an easy win. Hopefully they show up next week.

Looked much better on offense this time around and shot very well from the field but their defensive effort was simply not there. They gave up 67 points to 4 players and could not find a way to slow them down. Not to worry though as they take on a struggling Palermo squad next week. Should be a nice opportunity for a bounce back game.

This game was over before it even started, literally.
Palermo was forced to forfeit not having enough players but the scrimmage was entertaining from what I caught. Much better performance on offense this week.

Cordoba
Cordoba

LAST WK: 4

Disappointing outcome for this team, they weren’t able to stop Alexandria’s offense and couldn’t come out with the win despite 18&11 from Samien. They still average the second most points per game in the league and they will definitely need that offense next week when they take on a Riyadh squad that put up a season high 77 points!

Alexandria

LAST WK: 10

Shot very efficiently from the field and came up with an impressive win handing Cordoba their first loss of the season. This team is dangerous when Mahdi and Jahanzaib are feeling it from the field finishing with 19 & 15 points respectively. Next week they are definitely going to need that same offensive productivity against a Lahore team that can destroy you on offense, should be a high scoring game.

Istanbul

LAST WK: 9

Their streak of wins has come to an end. Facing their toughest opponent yet they looked a little disoriented and couldn’t stop Beirut on offense. Things do not get easier from here as they take on Mombasa next week. Mombasa has been a little strange lately but if they have their full squad available it won’t loom well for Istanbul unless they get their offense clicking again.

Not sure what is going on with this team. Used to be a force to reckon with but have not played like the competitor they once were all season long dropping three straight now. Lucky for them they take on Kashgar next week which comes at a perfect time as they definitely need to catch a break.

Got their first win of the season against Kashgar this week. Impressive game, took the lead and never looked back. Next week they can make it two in a row if they handle Suba down the stretch. Going to need that win to boost their confidence going into a week 6 matchup against Mombasa.

Forced to forfeit. Played a scrimmage game and had their moments but fell apart late. They take on Dhaka next week and they will definitely need a full squad and a lot of offense if they have any hope of winning this one.

Woah. It looks like the potential that was hidden behind this team came out in full colors this week. They put up a division season high of 77 points with Ahmed, Rabeeh, and Ricardo combining for 59 points and AbdulKareem finishing with 14 dimes, a new D2 record! For their sake, hopefully they can continue that hot streak going into their final two games against Cordoba and Alexandria, two great shooting teams.

Suba

Didn’t get to play this week but got the win against Mombasa because of a forfeit. That win can really come in handy when it comes to playoff seedings. Next week they take on Sana’a coming off their first win of the season. Game can go either way depending on who wants it more, should be a close one.

No Brett this week but still not an excuse to give up 77 points. Going to need to bring it on offense when they take on Granada next week. Should be interesting.

They have not won a single game dating back to last season and I don’t know if they will win one at all with their final two opponents being Mecca and Amman. They had their chances to win but they just don’t have enough to compete in this league.
