Greatness. Will always be capable of great things with their core squad. That is all.

Had a rough first half offensively but slowly got it going and found their way in the second half pulling away for a sweet victory. No one really stood out from the offense other than Omar Elsamna ending with a double double but hopefully with the return of Omar Mana this team can get more points in the paint and create more damage. Next week they take on a hungry Sana’a team that almost pulled off an upset, they’re going to need a better offensive showing early on.

Great win to start off the season. Fahad, Farzad, and Salman led the way scoring and really helped this team offensively. Next week they take on a struggling Sarajevo squad; if the offense shows up again expect Dhaka to take on an early 2-0 record.

Wasn’t the prettiest win this week losing a lead late, but they were able to close Sana’a out in the end. Anas and Malik finished with 24 & 19 respectively but they’re defense is going to have to step it up especially with a big matchup next week against Mombasa. This should also be another fun game to watch at the 12pm prime time slot.

I stand corrected saying this team was a small ball team. Muhanad Deeb finished with a monster game dominating the glass and finishing with 25&18. Tack on some impressive stats from newcomer Ramy Abukwaik and Omar Singer and its no wonder they put up a high scoring game. Next week they take on an Alexandria squad that didn;t have a great shooting performance last week, unless Alexandria improves their shooting percentage Granada can be looking at an early 2-0 start as well.

Blew the door open to the season with a huge win. This one got out of hand very quickly with a great distribution of scoring among the team. I said before all this team was missing was a full squad to get their players some rest; next week they take on another offensive juggernaut in Lahore. Should be a fun high scoring game.

Like I said last week, you put Waqas, Anwar, and Bilal on a team together and they will produce a great deal of offense. Anwar and Waqas both finish with double doubles with Bilal narrowly missing one and this team can really kill you on offense. They took the lead and never looked back and will try to keep that tempo up as they face Cordoba who is also coming off a great offensive game. Should be fun to watch.

Was a close game throughout but Mombasa pulled away at the end. The Johns led the team in scoring but in the end Mombasa’s shooting was able to close out the game. Wasn’t an easy matchup for them but next week they take on a Kashgar team that also had some offensive struggles. Look for them to have a bounce back week and get back to their winning ways.

Istanbul

Nice shooting percentage from this team which got them the win, Adam led the way with 15&10 and were able to take advantage of a week offensive showing from Kashgar. Not the flashiest of wins but if they play the same way they did this week it should be enough to beat Suba next week whom also struggled on the offensive end.

Had a feeling this team was going to upgrade from last season. They played a tight game throughout with a known skillful Mecca squad and had the lead late momentarily before giving it up again. Liked the way they played though; Salman led the way with 19, and if they could just shoot a better field goal percentage and settle for better jumpers they can really be a concern for other teams in the league. Next week they play a Amman squad that struggled a little on the offensive side, should be evenly matched if both squads all show up.

Played a solid game all throughout making some tough shots but couldn’t keep up with Granada in the end. They’re a young group of guys and should be able to bounce back from a loss like that and should be able to against a struggling Palermo squad. If they knock down their shots and level up the defense a little they should be just fine next week.

LAST WK: 12

Shot pretty poorly against a fast paced Dhaka team and couldn’t match their talent. Had trouble grabbing boards and settled for a lot of jump shots. Rough way to start off the season; next week they take on a hot Granada team that was all over the scoreboard and had a plethora of boards. Unless they change their game plan they can be staring at at an 0-2 hole.

Palermo

Didn’t know what to expect from them last week because they were relatively all new players but man they have to figure something out offensively or they’re in for a long season. Hopefully this game wasn’t a preview of what’s to come but if it was, good luck. They have to show up against a young Riyadh squad that’s coming off a tough loss, if they don’t this can be the beginning of the end for them.

Sarajevo

LAST WK: 14

Brett led the way with 22 but not a good shooting performance from the field whatsoever. Albeit they did play a tough Lahore squad but their defense should have at least made up a little for their poor offensive performance. Next week they take on a Dhaka squad that’s known to punish it’s opponents on the glass and with their scoring, a new defensive mentality is a must if they have any chances of contesting in this one.

Need to find an answer on the offense ASAP. Disappointing performance on their behalf. 31 points across the course of the entire game is unacceptable unless it was an amazing defensive game which it wasn’t. Next week they play Istanbul and they will have no shot of winning if they play this poorly on offense again. There’s potential it just needs to be found and fast.

Kenny Tansey has been leading the team in scoring for the past two seasons and had a nice offensive performance this week but the problem is he isn’t getting enough help on the offensive end. This team could win some games but they just need to change their offensive mindset or at least bump up their defensive strategy to make up for their offense because they do have a team that should be able to win a game here or there.
