Week 7 | 4-3 | 9 | Last year’s Cinderella. They put the league on notice, and almost ran away with a chip. Lost some key pieces yet they still managed to finish 9th in the standings and get a crack at a familiar foe. We know who option 1 and 2 are on this team, but who’s the third guy? Is it Suqi who can shoot from anywhere on the basketball court? Is it Jason who is crafty, or maybe it’s Kevin George? Regardless, someone needs to step up to be a reliable third option for this team to bounce Alexandria. Recap & X- factor: Ahmed Suqi had a phenomenal debut, with 18 points on 5-10 shooting from 3. I want to see him regain that confidence and continue to shoot. With ball handlers like Towfeek, Shafic and Jason, all you gotta do it spot up. I see him having a big time performance against Alexandria, I see another 5 three point performance. |
Week 6 | 3-3 | 8 | Sha-feek OR Tow- fic? Their games are as versatile as the spelling of their names. Tough loss against a strong Dhaka squad but don’t worry guys Lahore is up next. Shafic goes for 25, Towfeek adds 18 and heck why not Suqi hits 5 from the great beyond. |
Week 5 | 3-2 | 9 | Fresh off back-to-back wins, the momentum came to a halt. Towfeek and Shafic gotta turn it up these next two weeks if they want to have any chance of replicating their playoff success from last season. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 9 | Yes, I know they are 3-1. But who have they beat? (Looks at schedule). My point exactly. I wanna see how they play against the defensive juggernaut that is the Abbassi family, and maybe just maybe you guys get a special place in my heart. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 7 | Back in the win column for last year’s runner ups. Shafic led the way with 20 but I am still a bit concerned about this squad. They don’t seem to have the same fire power, as last year’s team. I know the departures of Yanes and Bilal are vital but having the ball in Towfeek’s hands more isn’t a bad thing. I expect a big game from him this week. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 10 | Quite games from Shafic and Towfeek. They struggled as a team from 3 and looked lethargic early on. Despite the big second half, it wasn’t enough to come out on top but look for them to get back on track against Amman in Week 3. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 5 | Losing in the finals definitely left a sour taste in their mouth, and unfortunately for Granada, they were the recipient of a Week 1 beatdown. Shafic with 25 while Towfeek and Ahmed each added 18. This team can score and loves fast break |
