Everyone eats on this team and apparently everyone’s got a scat (jump shot for all you old heads).  54 rebounds as a team? What?!?!? 25 assists? Find me a more unselfish team, I am waiting. Tex you can talk your talk if your boys can play like this. But no seriously, I am still waiting.

Did you guys really think Pat was ganna average 13-15 points per game? Dude was like “na, Imma walking bucket”. Jokes aside, him and Chris Diaz led the way and Cordoba looks like a well-oiled machine. Next two games are a walk in the park, but perhaps that week 7 matchup is a finals preview.

Sana’a, I owe you guys an apology. Not only did you prove me wrong and defeat what most claim to be a contending Medina squad, but you did it after facing a 7-point deficit with just over a minute remaining in regulation. CB Garrett hit the game tying 3 to send it into the first overtime and Joseph Capone took over from there. Capone flashed his skillset and hit the acrobatic game winning layup in sudden death overtime. Scary part is they shot 27% from 3 and still scored 62. You now have the league on notice.

100% the most balanced team in the league. They defend, they shoot and they are unselfish. OOOOOOHHHHH Maybe more unselfish than Kazan, since they are family and family don’t really hate on family, never mind. Where was I? Oh Yes, basketball. Bukhara is good at that. If MB had a defensive player of the year award, it goes to Billal Abbassi.

Tim Brown was in attendance and his team got the win. Coincidence? 100%. Moe Rayyan came back down to earth after hitting 7-12 in the previous week. Raj hasn’t find his touch this season but I wouldn’t count on him missing for much longer. When they have their full squad in attendance and play their brand of basketball, its game over. Can you say Repeat?

REVENGE! Zain gave his old squad the business with 20 and 10 and got the oh so desired W. Dhaka reminds me of those 2000s Detroit Piston teams. Collection of guys that know their roles, play hard and are always in contention for a championship. Not sure who would be the Rasheed Wallace of the squad and yell at the refs, but that’s basically the whole league.

Tripoli

Great team effort against an Alexandria team most expected them to defeat. Despite only having 5, they shot better and outrebounded their opponent and made shots when it mattered most. Ali with a game high of 21 points and cousin Yaqob added 15 of his own. Don’t sleep on Tripoli.

8
Medina

LAST WK: 5

Another tough loss for Commissioner Himey and his squad. They saw a comfortable lead vanish before their eyes and losing in sudden death overtime is never easy. Their guards need to execute better down the stretch. Malik and Sal have been inconsistent from three thus far and must perform better if they want to take some of the pressure off Brandon Steward. With Lahore coming in next, Medina needs a win if they want to be considered among the elite.

9
Palermo

Yes, I know they are 3-1. But who have they beat? (Looks at schedule). My point exactly. I wanna see how they play against the defensive juggernaut that is the Abbassi family, and maybe just maybe you guys get a special place in my heart.

10
Beirut

Should not have been a close game against Delhi. They are too big and too talented. Nice to see Nick get in rhythm and Luis return after a two-game hiatus. If last season’s ROTY plays like that for the remainder of the season, Beirut is a tough out.

11
Lahore
Lahore

LAST WK: 11

After what could have been arguably the worst display of FT shooting since 2014 Deandre Jordan, Moayad went 4-6 from the charity stripe. One of the league’s top guns had 21 points 4 rebounds and 5 assists but he went up against a “complete” Baghdad squad. Moayad has been ballin’ and the 1-3 record doesn’t fall on his shoulders. Mana and Hassan need to be the second and third options, respectively for this team to manufacture some wins. Moayad verse Brandon is going to be a good on

12
Alexandria

LAST WK: 12

A week after we were told “not to sleep on Alexandria”, looks like the league may be counting sheep at this point. Yes, I know they lost by 7 and Tripoli is legit, but c’mon, give us more. Their Week 5 matchup is not in their favor but boy oh boy are weeks 6 and 7. Those two games are more salivating than mensaf in Ramadan.

When I say Omar, you say Singer. Omar! Singer! Okay that’s it, nothing really left to talk about with this squad. Their next three games are against the top 3 teams in the league. Record wise, relax, I know you’re reading this and thinking your team is better.

Shah Khan! 32 points on 13-25 and oh why not throw in 7 rebounds. I know they lost but he played out of his mind for the young Islamabad squad. On the bright side, they got Amman next.

They were simply out hustled and outperformed. Give all the credit to Bukhara for locking down Kenny but this team is not the same without Ed. I expect a blow out and pad your stats kind of game for them against Suba.
