New Jersey (North): Baghdad (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 7 | 5-2 | 5 | The reigning Champs. Moe Rayyan and Raj Patel, absolute marksmen from 3. Deep is a great faciliatory, and Timmy Brown is the Draymond Green. So, what is the x-factor for these guys to repeat? Amir. If Amir can return to 16 point per game, its over like Vince Carter in the dunk contest. Recap: Baghdad is 2-0 when Raj scores 20 or more, I’d feed him early in this one and hope that carries on into the 2nd round. |
Week 6 | 5-1 | 6 | Dropping them in the standings because they almost lost to 4 players. I don’t care that the Patel brothers weren’t in attendance. No more excuses. Get your full roster or you will go home in the playoffs. A + B – C = early playoff exit. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 3 | Core guys in attendance, yet they only won by 10? Yes, a win is a win, but y’all the reigning champs, don’t let the teams that don’t belong hang with you guys. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 5 | Tim Brown was in attendance and his team got the win. Coincidence? 100%. Moe Rayyan came back down to earth after hitting 7-12 in the previous week. Raj hasn’t find his touch this season but I wouldn’t count on him missing for much longer. When they have their full squad in attendance and play their brand of basketball, its game over. Can you say Repeat? |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 6 | Down go the champs, suffering their first L since week 4 of last season. They were without Tim Brown for a second straight game so take this defeat with a grain of salt. I would also like to add that Moe Rayyan is a sniper and may be the best shooter in the league. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 1 | The Cinderella magic hasn’t worn off for this team and you love to see it. Years of playing with the same core has led them to success and you can see they genuinely enjoy playing with one another. Hey Tex, maybe Amir doesn’t need to score 30 for this team to win games anymore. They continue to keep everyone involved and came up with a win against a strong Beirut team, despite not having Tim Brown. And yes, I know Beirut didn’t have Luis so don’t come at me. Regardless, I think Baghdad rightfully belongs at the top, until proven otherwise. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 1 | Last season’s champs bring back the full squad in attempt to make another run at the chip. Moe Rayyan led the way with 15 and the Patel brothers combined for 24. When your entire team can average double digits in points, that makes you extremely tough to beat. |
