Abdul was held to 2 points in the first half, but exploded for 22 in the second. This isn’t new for AMP, but when other players on the team are hitting, like Yaqob and Shahzaib, that is when this team gets scary. They are 1st in the league in scoring and FG percentage, and have a very winnable game against Tehran coming up next week to close out the regular season.

Suba

LAST WK: 2

Aytac put on a show against a very tough Mombasa squad. This was a very big win for Suba. Their defense is top notch, and they can run. Huge game next week for the top of the standings when they play a determined Baghdad team. Back to back championships? Is Suba the new Dhaka?

3
Kazan

Are the stats correct? Do I see Pat held to 2 points on 0 field goals made? All that really means is this team is scarier than we all thought. Pat scored 2 points and they still beat a very talented Medina team. What if Pat was on? The addition of Craig has been huge. They have yet another tough game next week against Mombasa.

When Amir, Tim, Mark, and Moe are all present and none of them are the leading scorer, you know this team is deep. They have their biggest game this season against Suba next week. It will most likely will be the game of the week.

Dhaka

LAST WK: 7

Stats will never show how great this team is. They all trust each other, and 9 times out of 10, make the right shot choices. Everybody mentions it when talking about them, but chemistry, chemistry, chemistry. It matters.

6
Medina

Bilal is a clear cut candidate for DPOY, but they really could have used Anas and his scoring against the high powered Kazan offense. If you would have told me Pat was held to 2 points, I would have bet my life savings that Medina got the W. The fact remains, Medina is a top tier contender, and they will absolutely be chasing a championship this post season.

7
Jeddah

LAST WK: 6

Another not so impressive win by Jeddah, beating Lagos by 6. With yet another easy game coming up next week, I fully expect this team to end 8-2. In order to make it far in the playoffs, they eventually will have to beat someone good. I just don’t see that happening.

8
Tripoli
Tripoli

LAST WK: 9

I am not sure how often I have seen 4 players on the same team end the game with 17+ points. Extremely efficient game from Tripoli. They are getting hot at the right time.

9
Cordoba
Cordoba

LAST WK: 11

No Kenny? No problem. Luke had a field day at the FT line, and Walter also added 5 “gimme” points from the stripe. 13/17 from the line is very good in MB, and that will basically get any team the win. Their size will continue to give teams trouble.

10
Mombasa

LAST WK: 8

Disappointing game from Raza and team. Mo really just couldn’t get going, and Paul needs to have way more opportunities. Just 7 shots from their big is not enough, especially being how efficiently he shoots the ball. This is the 2nd time this season Mombasa has had back-to-back losses. I am not sure if that has ever happened before. Nevertheless, this team has loads of talent, and will be a tough matchup for any team.

Islamabad

LAST WK: 12

Welcome back Idris. 10/14 from 3. Wow. This is the support Zain has needed to make this team extremely competitive. Obviously he isn’t going to shoot 71% from 3 every game, but as long as he stays somewhat hot, and Luke and Omar contribute the way they know they can, this team can surprise some people in the playoffs.

12
Beirut
Beirut
5-4

LAST WK: 10

Beirut is quietly on a 3 game losing streak, after starting the season 5-1. Luckily, they play Alexandria next week, which should be another free win. Beirut should be used to those wins, as 4 of their soon to be 6 wins (assuming they win next week) could have a combined record of 7-33.

13
Damascus

LAST WK: 13

Unfortunately they did not get to play due to Granada forfeiting. Should be a very even matchup against Islamabad next week. Looking forward to watching this one.

14
Lahore
Lahore

LAST WK: 15

Lahore got the win this week even though they shot less efficiently than their opponent, and had less rebounds as well. They also were missing their leading scorer in Moayad. They are still in that no-mans-land and are a middle of the pack team.

15
Tehran
Tehran
3-6

LAST WK: 14

This team has had a tough schedule, and it doesn’t get any easier next week when they take on the #1 power ranked team in Palermo.

16
Jakarta
Jakarta

LAST WK: 16

This team can’t catch a break. Offensively, they did what you should expect them to do. Joe shot well, Ed filled up the box score, Steve got a double double, and Jason shot efficiently. It just wasn’t enough to put away the high-powered offense of Palermo.

17
Lagos
Lagos

They don’t always get blown out, and are somewhat competitive depending on the week. Can they upset Cordoba this week?

Sana'a

Rameez just couldn’t do enough to get his team the W. They are slowly working their way into the dungeon division. Don’t know what division that is? See below.

Gotta add a piece or two if they want to compete.

Forfeiting stinks. I don’t know if people had personal issues that came up, but forfeiting will bring you to the bottom.
