Sana'a / Jeddah - Jeddah’s had health and attendance issues but Brandon and Ammar are having great seasons. I don’t see them being able to lock down Abdul though Tehran / Lagos - Zain coming off a rough game, but that was against a team with like 5 guys over 6’2 so we can forgive him for that. Looks like Lagos has the squad together just in time for the playoffs. With good ball movement and patience on offense they’ll be able to score against a gritty Tehran defense. Lahore / Mombasa - Whoa lots of good matchups here. Raza/Jon, Dan/Herb. Could go either way but I give the slight edge to Mombasa Cordoba / Timbuktu - Cordoba’s too big too strong Kazan / Mecca - Don’t see Mecca being able to stop the #1 PPG team Islamabad / Suba - Suba not getting enough credit. Talented, unselfish group that plays smart. Strong work Shahaan Granada / Beirut - Should be a good game, with Granada escaping with the W thanks to another big game from Anwar Damascus / Jakarta - My upset pick of the week. BUT I have a disclaimer: if YoShah and Muj are both playing then I’m going with Jakarta. Dhaka / Amman - Playing against my 30+ division teammate/brother MoShabazz, let’s go! Baghdad / Sarajevo - Sarajevo looked great against Lagos. With Rameez back and Mike running the point like he can they’re much better than the record suggests Interesting stat of the week: 0-9 Baghdad has the same point differential as 5-4 Beirut (-5.0). I like the squad, hope they stick together next season, the chemistry is there and eventually they’ll find a way to close out all those close games

Suba is a really good team, I hadn't seen them play yet this year but I can see why they were 8-1. Score of our game doesn't do justice to how hard they played. They were also missing one of their top scorers #11. Good rebounding team, play smart and unselfish team ball. They are gonna be a tough out.
The top 11/12 teams are all pretty evenly matched going into the playoffs, anyone of them can take it. Three are guaranteed to go home early, the 6/11, 7/10 and 8/9 matchups week 2 are gonna be good games. |
