New Jersey (Central): Safad (D2)

| WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 6 | 5-1 | 1 | Seems like these boys weren’t feeling merciful this week, blowing Gaza out by 60 points. I’m talking full throttle for 40 straight minutes. Ehsan Popal (30pts) led the team in scoring and NoLimitHam showing how unlimited he is with 17 points, 5-12 from 3. Musa took a back seat and almost had a borderline triple-double (13pts, 12reb, 8ast). Unless there’s a freak occurrence, I can’t see them losing the rest of the way. |
| Week 5 | 4-1 | 1 | Safad put on an absolute show behind double-digit scoring from six players, and double-doubles from three of them. Leading the way was Musa Yanes (16pts, 13reb), Ehsan (11pts, 11reb, 6ast) and Todd (15pts, 14reb). Right now, this squad is a fine tuned motor, and I can’t see many teams beating them. |
| Week 4 | 3-1 | 2 | When three of your players score in the double-digits, and also get a dub in the process, it tells you how deep a team truly is. Safad took down Ramallah behind Ehsan’s 12 points and the Shah Bro’s dropping 11 a piece. |
| Week 2 | 1-1 | 2 | They lost, but put up a massive fight against the best team this year, and for that, they move up. All without their best player in Musa Yanes. A massive game from Ehsan Popal (32pts) on 10-16 shooting from the perimeter. Take a bow. Todd also had a nice game, going for a double-double on 14pts and 10reb. I also have to point out Ismail Shah’s borderline triple-double (8pts, 9reb, 7ast). |
| Week 1 | 1-0 | 4 | Only reason they were 7 last week is because I didn’t know how they’d look with the loss of Sheff Doola. They proved me wrong this week at least, with Musa Yanes and Ehsan Popal scoring 13 a piece and newcomer Todd having 12. They shot really efficiently, 46% from 3 will win you games. I’m looking forward to seeing how they continue playing. |
| Preseason | 0-0 | 7 | After a heartbreaking and controversial finals loss, Musa Yanes is returning with most of the Summer team intact, minus Sheff Doola. If Ehsan Popal and the Shah’s continue in their last season form, I have no doubt they’ll be a top team. |
