New Jersey (Central): Al-Wehdat (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 7 | 1-6 | 16 | Another 4v5. Shocking. |
Week 6 | 1-5 | 16 | They saw they had Yazur this week, who’re coming off a loss, and decided to take the day off. |
Week 5 | 1-4 | 15 | You have to give it to them, down by 21 at the half, you thought this game would be over. But they came roaring back, giving Safad a good scare. Omar Subhani led the team with 27, going 7-14 from 3. Waheed put in his own 24 points. This team showed a lot of promise, and if they get more than 5 players, and get a consistent showing from Waheed, Omar, and Sami, then they can make these last two games entertaining. It must hurt tho, knowing that with a full team, they could’ve had more wins. |
Week 4 | 1-3 | 16 | At this point, you almost have to feel bad for them. 3 out of the 4 games have been played with 5 or less players. There’s only so much a team can do when they’re constantly at a disadvantage. |
Week 3 | 1-2 | 15 | Another poor shooting day from the guys, but their team hasn’t been complete for the last two weeks. Hopefully they figured it out over the break. Shooting 19% from 3 as a team is abysmal. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 11 | In what the website dubbed “The Game of the Week”, Al-Wehdat dropped a whopping 9 points in the second half, and were blown out by 26. Sami Butt led the team with 13 points and 10 boards, but lord, 4-28 (14%) from the field is an ugly stat-line. Granted, they were short handed. No Waheed, Yusuf, or Faisal will do that. Sami’s a great player, but he needs more help around him when he finds himself in shooting slumps. When everyone is there, I think they won’t have that issue. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 8 | The YM PWay boys make their MB debut, and they make it an exciting OT win. Sami Butt has a chance to be the 3-point leader this season, going 6-16 from 3 and ending with 22 points. These guys have a lot of chemistry together and that’s the advantage they’ll have over other teams. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 12 | This team can dangerous—Sami, Waheed, and Yusuf are great additions and make a difference on the court. The rest we’ll have have to see after week 1. |
