Week 7 5-2 5

The Abbassi’s stay doing their thing with the power of friendship—Lil man Omar had a crisp 18 while Fursan added 15 and big-man-adjacent Ali Sufian had 14. Himey had 3 blocks, so I gotta give him love for that. Going into the playoffs, the Abbassi’s look to be the same team. Running fast, flying high, and scoring buckets.

Week 6 4-2 5

Whatever this team planned for the game, worked. They held Mo Amin down and barely let Deir Al-Balah breathe, despite missing their big. Shoutout Lil O, having a nice game for himself with 22 points on 9-15 shooting. Islam (13pts) and Fursan (11pts, 10reb) also helped secure the win.

Week 5 3-2 6

They went up comfy, but towards the closing minutes of the game, I know they had to sit up to put away Al-Wehdat. I don’t know what happened for them to blow a 21 point lead, but all that matters is a win. Muj looked like old Muj, netting 25 points on 10-17 shooting, while Ali had 21 of his own points. As a team, they had 22 assists, which speaks to how selfless this team has been, and always will be.

Week 4 2-2 7

They made it a really entertaining game, but did themselves no favors by getting down in a hole so early. Lil O had 23 but the stat-line is doing him no favors (9-26, 4-18 from 3). Fursan (19pts) and Mujtaba (17pts) had good games, and I’m confident that they’ll be fine against the rest of their opponents.

Week 3 2-1 7

This game was an ugly one, despite Lil O having 24 points and Fursan having 21. But the rebounding problems are starting to show—they’re currently ranked 15th in the league, and there were moments even I thought they’d lose. Maybe with a full team, which they haven’t had the whole season, things might be different.

Week 2 1-1 6

In the beginning of the season I questioned them for getting rid of their bigs. While I do think it was still the wrong move, they showed this week that they’re capable of going up against anyone. Ali Sufian had a nice defensive game against Mana, finishing with 11 points. Lil O did Lil O things, having 14 points on 5-10 shooting. They’ll have the rest of the season to show that they’re a legit contender. I believe they are.

Week 1 1-0 5

When you go up against 4, you’re expected to win. Ali Sufian had 20 points while Muj had a nice 15. They weren’t really challenged this week. And without Lil O, I doubt they were complaining.

Preseason 0-0 4

The power of friendship makes its return, this time adding Ali Sufian and Mujtaba. Trading height to be a fast paced, high flying team. A lack of a big might hurt them, though.
