New Jersey (Central): Sabra (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 10 | 4-6 | 9 | Nobody could believe their eyes when they saw the score. Sabra up against Nazareth with the clock winding down?? Severely undermanned does not mean they lacked heart. The Big 3 of AB, Omar, and Malik put on a show and almost pulled out the win. They were one unfavorable call away from putting the beast Nazareth to sleep, but unfortunately the refs had other plans. |
Week 9 | 4-5 | 8 | No Mohamed, no AB, so Omar Abuattieh said fine, I’ll do it myself. He put up 16 points and 7 boards on 70% shooting while hitting some crazy Dirk-esque fadeaways on the baseline that left Akka scratching their heads. He almost willed them to victory, but unfortunately the rest of his team also decided that they weren’t showing up this week. |
Week 8 | 4-4 | 7 | Close game, Ahmed El-Sayed with a clutch 3 to tie it, why are you intentionally fouling to put them at the line????? Honestly I don't know what else to say. On the bright side Ryan had 18 points on a cool 8-13 shooting. |
Week 7 | 4-3 | 5 | Sabra kept it close for most of the game but then, well, came showtime Ryan. 8 turnovers, with a lot of them coming in the last 10 minutes of the game will not cut it if this team hopes top make a run at the title. I get it, they're trying to let him dictate the offense, but at some point you have to let someone else handle the rock. Let's see how they adjust with their sharp shooter Ahmed hopefully back next week. |
Week 6 | 4-2 | 5 | Mohamed Albana securing a double double is almost guaranteed at this point. Also, don’t overlook the fact that Ryan Albana finally had an efficient shooting night, with 10 points on 4-6 shooting. Maybe Mohamed finally got through to his younger brother. If they can keep this up, they’re going to be a scary matchup for anyone in the league. |
Week 5 | 3-2 | 6 | Must sting, losing to a team that has two of your former players running it. Besides that, a monster game from Mohamed Albana (9pts, 21rbs) and that’s really it. AB, Ahmed, and Malik helped out but an overall bad shooting day from three will hurt you. They’ll be tested against Ajjur next week. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 4 | Sabra got cooking early, with a phenomenal shooting day from Ahmed El Sayed (8-18 from 3, 24pts) and a sweet double double from Mohamed Albana. Everyone took turns getting on the scoreboard as well, maybe chemistry is building up, something Ryan will happily come back to. As a team they’ll be tested this week, let’s see if they can keep the momentum up. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 5 | My oh my, has Malik finally awoken. 17 points on 7-9 shooting, you couldn’t ask for a better game from him with Ryan out. AB also accidentally crossed someone up and had the game winning layup. In all seriousness though, that was tuff. The 1 question that remains for this team though, can they give Malik the ball more? When Ryan is in Malik takes a back seat, which we saw this week isn’t the best strategy. We’ll find out how this plays out in the weeks to come. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 8 | Only Mohamed Albana cracked double digits with 11 points, while the next highest scorer was with 6. Ryan shot 1-10 from the field and missed the game tying 3, so we won’t be talking about that lab work we brought up last week. Even with almost everything going wrong towards the end, they only lost by 3. Let’s see if they can bounce back against a (well rested) Areeha team next week. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 3 | Here’s another team that said we want to win this season, so Ryan “watch out I’m bringing my brother” Albana got in the lab and it finally showed on the stat sheet. The Albana brothers combined for 31 points and took home the easy victory. With 4 people in double figures, it's clear these guys are hungry to win. Also shoutout Osad, hustling on every loose play and even getting himself a bucket. Mans is dedicated to his craft. |
