Week 9 4-5 11

Another team that should be ranked higher on the list, one because of attendance and two because of defensive effort. I’m assuming that once the playoffs come around, these guys will lock in on the more important side of the court and get stops. If they do not make a consistent effort in stopping teams, their season will be over by this time next week. There is definitely upset watch written all over this team, With Ish and AMP leading the way and a solid supporting cast. To start the playoffs, they face a team that they have already beaten this season. Let’s see how much can change in 2.5 months.

Week 8 4-4 9

They had 4 guys and score 66, pretty impressive.

Week 7 4-3 9

Actions speak louder than words, and that is saying something because this group does not stop shouting. Yaffa locked up the league’s best player and played great team basketball throughout the duration of the game. Ehsan Popal with a game high 27 points on 9-14 from the field, including 6 from deep. Oh yeah, they got the win without AMP. Yaffa is rollin’ right now.

Week 6 3-3 9

Still not proven.

Week 5 2-3 13

They ended their losing streak and did so by putting up 84 points as a team! If your name started with an “I” you were in double digits and same applied if your last name was “Popal”. No one questions this team to ability to score the basketball. We are all aware of their skillsets. It’s their lack of composure at times and falling in love with the 3ball that has played a role in their 3 losses.

Week 4 1-3 14

Another team with a surplus of talent but just has had a gauntlet of a schedule. Nice to see AMP ball out again, as he led the way with 27 points on 11-16 from the field, but that really was the lone bright spot. Ehsan and Mohammed combined shot 8-28 from the field, while no one else was in double figures. They are relying too heavily on 3 point shooting and need to use their athleticism and get to the basket.

Week 3 1-2 12

Man oh man. After losing a close game to Al-Bireh in Week 2, Yaffa couldn’t buy a bucket last night. Had I not known any better, I thought their box score was their upcoming 2024 tour dates. They need more efficiency and better shot selection. They have 5-6 talented guards, but someone has to slow the game down and not go one on three and expect the officials to give them the call.

Week 2 1-1 7

Almost a picture perfect ending, but they just came short. Fun Fact, the Shah family outproduced the Popal family 38-32, just in case anyone was keeping score at home. On to more serious things, Ismael is a bucket and was hitting tough shot after tough shot. AMP showed flashes of scoring champ AMP from a few seasons back.

Week 1 1-0 7

AMP is back, and he brought family/friends. Balanced scoring effort from this group as they had five guys all score 9+ points. Not to mention they outrebounded Al-Quds and shot a higher percentage across the board. Impressive statement win to start the season, especially a team that most consider to be contenders.

Preseason 0-0 16

Welcome back Abdul Mutaleb! For anyone not aware this dude is the definition of a “bucket”! The second he steps on the court, you can pencil in 26 points, MINIMUM! Not too familiar with the remaining cast members but we will found out soon enough.
