Week 9 7-2 6

Most people would say this is too low for a team that sits at the top of the standings. I won’t say that’s a terrible argument but I place this team here mostly due to strength of schedule. To finish the regular season though, they scraped by Qalqilya and dominated Yaffa, which are solid signs of success. I just feel that the teams placed above them are a bit more complete, which has been changing due to the rise of Omar Sehwail and the return of Ahmad Chaabane. This is another team that can be thrown into the conversation of a real championship contender because they are led by two top players in Mahdy and Hassan, but also the way

Week 8 6-2 4

"Ride” the hot hand and you will be rewarded. Superstar Mahdy rewarded his teammates with a game winner against one of the league’s contenders.

Week 7 5-2 6

Unlike the NYG from 2016, this team seemed to have benefited from a boat trip. Hassan Chaabane looks rejuvenated scoring a season high 33 points with 6 rebounds 5 assists and 3 steals. Booking a cruise midseason is the closest thing to a Dennis Rodman going to Vegas that we will see in MB. Back to ball, Mahdy scored 15, as we still await for a consistent third option from Bethlehem to emerge.

Week 6 4-2 7

Still not proven.

Week 5 3-2 9

If anyone has a size small Michael Jordan jersey for our beloved Hassan Chaabane, please DM me. The superstar guard needed more of his teammates not named Mahdy to pull this one. Kudos to the Areeha squad for making life difficult for the two stars, as they combined for 36 of the team’s 44 points. Bethlehem needs more out of Ahmad Abid and Omar Sehwail, emphasis on Omar because he is a matchup nightmare for forwards.

Week 4 3-1 8

Nice bounce back win, after an abysmal ending to their last game. Due to foul trouble, it seemed that Mahdy played the role of lone ranger with his sidekick assigned bench duty. S/o Yazan Sehwail with a career high 12 points on 4/7 from deep. Good for you young buck. It’s a promising sight that this team was able to pull this one out, with Hassan in foul trouble and contributions from a collection of players not named Mahdy.

Week 3 2-1 7

Part of me knows their second was an anomaly but 9 points in one half is unthinkable. I have seen Hassan score 9 points alone in a matter of three minutes. 9 points?!?!? I expect them to bounce back nicely next week.

Week 2 2-0 3

Hassan Lebron James Iverson Chaabane with a modest 22 points and 7 rebounds. Rumor has it he ran out of soda before the game and resorted to water, which led to the lackluster performance. But we cannot forget about the other superstar in Mahdy with, wait for it, 22 points. This two seem to be in sync! Could use more help from the rest of backstreet boys but it’s still early.

Week 1 1-0 3

42 points on 16-22 from the field and 9-14 from three is different. He also grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Mahdy may have not been ROTW, but the brother is aiming for MVP status this season. His running mate and all world guard Hassan Chaabane with a modest 18 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Perhaps the most lethal 1-2 punch in the league and with a solid supporting cast of Rugrats, they should be a handful all season

Preseason 0-0 4

So apparently this team was already constructed back in 2019, prior to Hassan and Mahdi even thinking about MB. Jokes aside, this team is extremely young and talented. Hassan Chaabane is a top 5 player in the league, with Mahdi not being too far behind. Omar Sehwail had flashes before his season ended prematurely due to injury last season and the other Chaabane bloodline ain’t too shabby himself. Ahmad Abid was a very good addition, as he can compete with most big men in this league. Excited to see these guys hoop.
