Week 10 3-7 11

What happened to this team… Ali Hassan decided to play on an injury and dropped 10 points. Ali sufian having his usual 16 point game on no three point attempts. And Islam having 11. Honestly this team just needs their best player to step up. Playoffs is win or go home, I expect to see last season Ali Hassan this coming week. Once that happens omar, Islam, hafiz, Ali sufian, and farzad will capitalize off it and they will get themselves going off that. This team has the means to win, but I think it’s all depending on Ali Hassan. If not farzad and Ali sufian have to find a way to get everyone going.

Week 9 3-6 11

This team needs both Ali’s in order for them to be a serious match up. Ali S continues to deliver and ensure his name is in the discussion for ROTY. We need to see more of Farzad and Islam especially when they’re short their star player.

Week 8 3-5 10

They took care of business against a team they were expected to beat. Ali Suiafan has been a revelation for this club, as he has been the perfect Robin to Ali Hassan’s Batman, as they combined for 39 of the team’s 59 points.  Although not typically their strong suit, they did lock up defensively and force Suba to commit 11 TO’s. Let’s see what they can pull together against a red-hot Medina team.

Week 7 2-5 11

Losers of three in row, and unfortunately that forces me to slide them down to the 11th spot. Ali Hassan, Ali Suiafan and Farzad combined for 40 points, but the rest of the team could only muster 10. The game was within reach up until the final moments, where Sarajevo forced Tehran into tough shots and made their FTs down the stretch. I expect them to dominate in their next game against Suba.

Week 6 2-4 9

Went into the half with the lead but couldn’t hold it down the stretch. Another solid outing from rookie Ali Suiafan with 14 points on 50% from the field and 16 rebounds. Ali Hassan struggled from the field as he shot 5-20 overall. It would have been nice to see more production out of Farzad and Hafiz as they were aggressive in this one early on. They outrebounded Kabul, shot better from deep and had more assists as a group. But what really lost them the game were the 16 team turnovers and that is very difficult to overcome. They final four games are certainly winnable.

Week 5 2-3 10

They were without superstar guard Ali Hassan, and they fought hard til the very end. Rookie Ali Suiafan with a stellar night, leading the way with 27 points and 13 rebounds on 12-21 from the field. Unfortunately, only one other player for Tehran was in double figures and they had no answer for the depth of Kashgar. I don’t think this team will be down once Ali returns, plus we need more Farzad in the meantime.

Week 4 2-2 6

Was that 2017 Farzad? 16 points and 5-6 from the FT is the guy I recall playing for Dhaka. Props to you Ali Hassan. Speaking of the superstar PG, he led the way for Tehran with 17 points. Rookie Ali Suiafan had 15 and MB vet Hafiz also scored 15 points on 5-10 shooting from deep. I think this team benefited from adding another combo guard and now Ali can play off the ball, as opposed to being the primary ball handler.

Week 3 1-2 8

As expected, Ali Hassan showed up and showed out, but that’s all there was to it. Ali Suiafan did contribute here and there, but there needed to be more from teammates Muhanad Deeb and Islam Abbassi. This team has the size, the playmaking, and the scoring to fight against the very best, but something had to have been telling about their second-half defense. Tehran has had a rough stretch playing two phenomenal teams back-to-back, so I do believe they will be back with something to prove. This team will certainly see better days, don’t sleep on them.

Week 2 1-1 9

They played well and had the game within reach. I would like to see a few more pick n rolls from Ali and Muhanad but its only week 2. It’s a long season so we know there will be growing pains, and they were missing a big piece in Ali S. Ali Hassan will use these two weeks to rest up and come back give y’all a cool 30 piece with BBQ sauce on the side.

Week 1 1-0 7

Ali Hassan vs. Shahzaib! The former came out on top in this one and had a lot of support from his teammates. Rookie Ali Suiafan with a nice MB debut of 12 points and 6 boards, and Muhanad Deeb 8 and 9 of his own. Omar Marachli scored 10 points and the star PG had 20 points to lead his team to a week one win.

Preseason 0-0 6

For starters, they have arguably the best scoring PG in the league in Ali Hassan. Deeb is a walking double-double and showcase player and rookie Ali Suiafan is generating some serious buzz. Omar Marachil and vet Hafiz will provide much needed spacing on the perimeter, while Islam and Mustafa Barakat will dominate in the midrange game. Very solid squad.
