New Jersey (North): Jeddah (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 10 | 6-4 | 5 | Man, this is scary…hassan, Omar, and Nader, pick your poison. These three can effortlessly score 20+ in a game. With jehad out nader picked off where jehad left off. To see these 3 play together and none of them be selfish really is a peace of work. Hassan having 25, Omar with 16 (on horrible shooting), and nader with 17. I do want to see this team with Omar having a good shooting game and how it goes. However, they have the man power and momentum to hold themselves through playoffs. I certainly do not want to see them. |
Week 9 | 5-4 | 4 | No Lil O, no Jehad, NO PROBLEMO! Another day for the professor with a 40 piece carrying his team on his back making sure the short staffed line up walks away with the W. It did take him 35 attempts to get there but 40% isn’t bad when the entire defense is focused on you. |
Week 8 | 4-4 | 5 | This game took a turn early, as Jeddah big Jehad left the game with an injury, and we all wish him a speedy recovery. As for those who did play, Sarajevo did a great job defending the star-studded backcourt of Hassan and Lil O. 14-38 between the two of them isn’t necessarily a winning formula for Jeddah but they were thrown into an odd predicament with their 3rd option going down. Malik Makkaoui did step up with 12 points, which is a positive sign. Down one big will hurt this team, as they are already vertically challenged to begin with and that could haunt them in the playoffs. |
Week 7 | 4-3 | 3 | Winners of three in a row, this team is clicking on all cylinders and at the right time. Kabul is believed by many to be a serious contender and Jeddah took care of business down the stretch with some timely made baskets and suffocating defense. Lil O led all scorers with 24 points and has evolved into a certified bucket and is now averaging 18.9 ppg on the season. Hassan Chaabane with another night at the office with 14 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists and S/O to Hamza Abdelghani going 4-6 from three-point land. I don’t think Jeddah loses another regular season game. |
Week 6 | 3-3 | 5 | So, after an abysmal 1-3 start, this team is suddenly 3-3 and back into the top 5, and quite honestly are we surprised? Led Mr. MVP Hassan Chaabane and fan favorite Lil O, Jeddah did their thing last night. The reigning MVP had 20 points and gave Kashgar a Domino’s Pizza 5 by 5 deal, with 5 rebounds 5 assists and 5 steals. Lil O hit a huge three under 2 minutes left in the game, which ultimately was the deciding factor. The best attribute of this team are their role players knowing exactly what their strengths and limitations are. They defend, they score when asked to and they play together. Sound |
Week 5 | 2-3 | 6 | Talk about a rebound win. After another brutal loss, team captain Lil O rallied the troops and reminded them that he was the triple champ, and to get on his back. Well, not only did they ball out but so did the aforementioned young Abbassi leader. Lil O and Hassan combined to score 46 points which was actually more than the entire Istanbul squad. If this team gets back to their winning ways, Lil O should receive more MVP consideration. |
Week 4 | 1-3 | 8 | Without a doubt their most efficient game of the season, as a whole but they just ran into a bad man at the end. Aside from the loss, only 4 guys scored for this team. With a roster of 8, it would be nice to see more guys contribute and perhaps seem less predictable. Hassan flirted with another triple double, Lil O had it going from 3, as did Hamza and Jehad continues to score 15 plus. Did not expect this team to be 1-3 but they are built for the playoffs. |
Week 3 | 1-2 | 7 | Something had to have been in that Abbassi water going into this week. Omar lil o with 23 big ones and of course, the biggest one of all to upset a great Riyadh team in shocking fashion. I’ve made it clear this team wasn’t deserving of what was an 0-2 record, and when it started to feel like things were lost, they found each other and rallied in the clutch. And it really doesn’t get more clutch than Jeddah’s top guys all showing up. Don’t let reigning MVP Hassan’s triple-double go over your head, Jehad played phenomenal second-half defense and scored two back-to-back clutch ones, and Hamzeh put up 10 o |
Week 2 | 0-2 | 7 | Do I think they will remain here? No, of course not. But at this point in time, they are 0-2. The positives are simple, Hassan, Lil O and Jehad can all score and get them 15-20 on any given night. The negatives: they are not clamping teams down as many expected and I know they will be the first to admit that. |
Week 1 | 0-1 | 5 | Well, it looks like 10-0 is out of the equation, but they ran into the shiesty. Hassan was tasked with guarding Joey and vice versa, but still put up a respectable stat line across the board. Lil O had an off-shooting night, as did Hamza and Jehad. This team will rely heavily on their star-studded backcourt, but I don’t expect off nights like these very often. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 1 | Lil O did not disappoint with his first-round selection being none other than reigning MVP and backcourt bestie, Hassan Chaabane. Lil O, and Hamza Abdelghani will provide this team with shooting while Obada and Jehad will provide the size and muscle. And the do it all superstar point guard will have leave his imprint on every game. |
