Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 8 | 1-7 | 16 | After winning their first game of the season, they found themselves victims of a seven-game losing streak. Joey had the scoring title in reach but after struggling a bit in week 8, he no longer holds that crown. Their MB vets proved to be solid contributors as were their first timers. No chance vs. Mombasa. |
Week 7 | 1-6 | 15 | This team’s lack of success is overshadowing Joey’s phenomenal sophomore season. Capone is leading the league in scoring and was in his bag last night with 27 points on 50% from the field. Malik added 19 of his own on 6-12 shooting but despite their efforts, Tripoli just overmatched them. |
Week 6 | 1-5 | 16 | I can’t imagine they had these low of expectations when the season started but here, we are. Cancun on me, Cancun on 3. 1,2,3 Cancun! |
Week 5 | 1-4 | 13 | This team is sinking and fast. No one has put together consecutive stellar performances. They are inconsistent from 3 to say the least and can't seem to stop teams in the transition. Joey and Malik need to shoot more efficiently from 3 and Moe Dirt has to regain the swagger he had the first few games. As a team, they made Alexandria's 4th and 5th options look good. |
Week 4 | 1-3 | 12 | It wasn’t the 37-point masterpiece of last week, but Joey still treated us to a 20-point game. Malik returned after being MIA in the last two weeks, but his jump shot still appears missing. If teams are going to continue to focus on Joey, Malik and Muhammad must be more efficient from deep if they want to capitalize on their opportunities. In week 5 they get the scorching hot Alexandria team. |
Week 3 | 1-2 | 14 | I am starting to believe their first game of the season was an anomaly. Joey Capone, who had a game high 37, is doing all he can out there but even he can’t play 1 on 5. Need more from the likes of Zubi and Moe Dirt. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 9 | For starters, very pedestrian night out of Malik Zubi. 1-10 from the field and committed 4 turnovers. With the number of bad passes I saw, poor guy thought he still played for Mecca. On the bright side, Joseph Capone did his best to keep his guys in the game with a team high 25. They have the guard play to compete, but they need more consistency out of their big 3. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 6 | Captain Ammar never ceases to disappoint. He replaced his star PG and Granada legend in Omar Singer, with Winter ‘22 Champ Joey Capone. And why not bring in former Granada player, Malik Zubi just in time for a revenge game. Zubi led the way with a game high 19 while Joey flirted with a triple double. Its early but Muhammad Mustafa looks like a solid third option for this squad as he had 17 points on 70% from field. They outrebounded Medina, forced them to take tough shots and as all Ammar Mustafa led teams do, they passed the basketball. Sleepers? |
