New Jersey (North): Medina (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 8 | 2-6 | 13 | Lost via forfeit but it may help their old bodies out. Ed and Kenneth need to be in peak shape and form if this team wants to even sniff the 2nd round of the playoffs. |
Week 7 | 2-5 | 11 | Well for starters, this was probably the most balanced field goal distribution you will ever see from this team. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t connect. It feels like spots 10-16 can be interchanged as none of this teams have been impressive. But Medina has Ed and no one else does. |
Week 6 | 2-4 | 10 | You wanna know why they won this game? Because they had someone other than Ed and Kenny taking 10 plus shots. Great game by Zeeshan and now Medina has perhaps a solid third option on offense. And early bday s/o to our commish who turns 44 in a couple of days. |
Week 5 | 1-4 | 14 | The held their own in the beginning but I guess the wheels gotta fall off at some point. S/o to Kenny for continuing to score the ripe age of 47. Gurj was a big body down low with 14 and 11 but they need more out of Ed, and he'll be the first to admit it. |
Week 4 | 1-3 | 15 | For context, 100 points in a 40 min game = 2.5 points per minute. Mombasa hit 22 3’s as a team. Mo Masri had 42 while Medina scored 48 as a team. Were they missing Ed, sure, but is he making up 52 points. Heck no. |
Week 3 | 1-2 | 12 | When the average age of your team is 34, chances are you won’t hang with the young bucks. They need more balance and better play from the usual suspects. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 10 | The Oldtimers had perhaps the biggest upset of the week. I guess those 8am Pilates classes at the YMCA did their 40-year-old bodies some good. Jokes aside, Ed and Kenny turned back the clock and combined for 41 out of the team’s 64. Gurjinder was a force on the boards, bringing down 11 and forced Farhad into some contested shots. Maybe there’s some hope for these guys after all. |
Week 1 | 0-1 | 12 | This team is huge, as their shortest player could play PF on most teams, but size isn’t everything folks. Ed and Kenny are two of the better shooters in this league but man this team can’t afford for them to go 5-23 from the great beyond. I am very surprised to see that they were outrebounded by a much smaller Granada squad, very uncharacteristic of an Ibrahim Omar led squad. Nonetheless, they were without their Center, Gurjinder. I wouldn’t be too concerned about Medina, as their veteran experience alone will win them some games. |
