New Jersey (North): Jerusalem (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 8 | 7-1 | 4 | Winners via forfeit but the Abbassi family don’t need to introduction or season recap. But for the sake of pleasing Lil O, I shall provide them with one. Lil O is the better scoring Abbassi, Biggz is still one of the premier guards in this league on both ends of the floor and Mana is a walking skyscraper that will get you 20 rebounds in his sleep. Add in the shooting of the Saleh brothers and Islam’s old man game, why can’t Jerusalem take home the prize? |
Week 7 | 6-1 | 4 | S/o to the best Abbassi for leading the way with 22 points and knocking down 5 of those thangs from deep. The less talented brothers (I’m kidding) did their thing as well, with Biggz doing his best Shawn Marion impression, 10, 4, 3 and 2. Islam turned back the clock and scored 11 of his own. Omar double-double Mana secured the glass and brought down 19 rebounds. This team has a tendency to play down to their opponents and that could easily get them knocked out of the playoffs, earlier than expected. |
Week 6 | 5-1 | 4 | If you have been tuning in to the MB Podcast, you know that this game was discussed last week and was highly anticipated. I don’t think the Abbassi’s were fans of being dropped to the 2nd best brother duo in the league and boy did they take that personally. Billal “Biggz” showed up and showed out with a season high 26 points, Omar Mana had a monster double-double with 11 and 22. And how can we forget about Lil O, who despite not connecting from 3, still scored 17 points on close to 50% shooting. The top 4 teams at this point are interchangeable, and unfortunately, they get the short end of the stick this week. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 4 | They won via forfeit and honestly, I had them losi..... na sike, they would have won by 20 +. Unfortunately, they can't move up in this week's rankings. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 4 | Biggz returned and showed out. The better of the Abbassi brothers hit 4 3’s while the other had 3 assists and 3 steals. Jokes aside great game from the Billal and Lil O and can’t leave out Mana with the 18 points and 10 rebounds. This team is built for a long playoff run and has a very favorable schedule moving forward. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 3 | They were without the 2nd best Abbassi in this one and it hurt them. Lil O and Islam aren’t the same players without Biggz controlling the tempo of the game and it showed. Big game from Omar Mana as have come to expect nothing else. Not a loss I would concern myself with too much as they just happened to run into the best team in the league. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 2 | Kareem Ahmed for President! The Yemeni sensation is on fire and is playing like a league MVP right now. Islamabad’s superstar PG Hassan Chaabane was on load management last night and his team looked great without him. Zain, Idris and Kareem are a scary trio, and all were very efficient last night. You add the best defensive guard in the league, and you have the favorite to win it all. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 2 | Captain Ahmad Saleh, replaced Hassan with Billal (which honestly is equivalent to Stefon Diggs for Justin Jefferson), brought back the Triple Champ in Lil O and back comes the walking skyscraper Omar Mana. This game was never really in question, as Jerusalem will most likely be a top two team in terms of defense. They can guard 1-5, shoot, and rebound the basketball. Very, very, very quiet game from Biggz and Islam, like I mean whispers can’t even be heard. But before you know it, I’ll be here next week writing about how Billal barely missed a triple double. |
