WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 7 | 3-4 | 0 | |
Week 6 | 3-3 | 4 | Man would this game had been different if they had Aymen. Zain got whatever he wanted downlow and let his former teammates know about it. Shahzaib led the way with 27 points and did everything he could to keep his team in the game but a few miscues by the rest of the team hurt them down the stretch. When the game is on the line, the basketball should be in Singer’s hands as he will the right play. Too often they were forcing things and the ball wasn’t in the floor general’s hands. |
Week 5 | 3-2 | 4 | Redemption win for Lagos. A great team effort led by Shahzaib and Singer. Shaz lit the court on fire shooting 10-12 from the field, and Singer led the point, dishing out 4 assists, and grabbing 6 rebounds. Moe Rayyan also got his, shooting at a great percentage, but only 6 attempts? No one particularly shot that much, which highlights the stellar team play from Lagos. They're doing what they can to find the best shots, hence the week high 50% from the field and 54% from the 3. Lagos faced a tough loss against Damascus in the week prior, and it seems they took their loss and learned from it. A team with such a great backcourt and a great big, who, by the way, had 14 rebounds, that are now picking the best shots every time up the floor is like the scariest comeback story known to these other 7 competing teams. It seems Lagos has found their mojo, and are now playing basketball at its essence, g |
Week 4 | 2-2 | 5 | As previously stated, game of the week but someone had to leave with a bad taste in their mouth. The new big 3 of Singer, Shahzaib and Aymen were great as they had 48 of the team’s 62 points. They could have gotten more out of Moe Rayyan, as he has to be more aggressive and look for his shot. Neither squad shot particularly well from the FT line, which explains the game going into double overtime, but Lagos had this game within reach. They should win at least two of their next three games. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 4 | Okay I know they just beat Jerusalem, but they were without Farhad. But I will applaud them for going out and acquiring Aymen, as they desperately needed a mobile big. Shahzaib aka “I am a bucket” Khan led the way with 15 points on a night where Omar Singer didn’t seem like he was much of a factor, perhaps it was the glute injury. Despite the quiet games from their top guns, they got the job done, and now they can focus on the revenge game against Damascus. Not to take away from Mr. Predictions, but I don’t see Lagos losing their next two games. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 4 | They played one heck of a first half and kind of fell apart in the second. Missing Moe Rayyan definitely hurt as they could have thrown different matchups at Sana’a but they just looked out of sync. Shahzaib with a game high 30 points but it took 30 shots. After garnering some MVP consideration, Omar Singer had a quiet performance as did Sal Rahin. Their shooting and playmaking are among the league’s best and that alone will win them games. Next up is the undefeated Jerusalem squad. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 4 | The final game of the night was a banger. Singer, Shahzaib and Moe Rayyan are a lethal trio as they combined for 54 of the team’s 62 points. Find me a point guard that can lead his team in points and rebounds ….. I’ll wait. Not many. Singer has developed into a star before our very eyes and with a fantastic collection of guards around him, should only continue to excel. Scary what this team can be when Sal returns. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 3 | Omar Singer looks to prove his first-round selection with a very decorated collection of guards around him. Ammar decided to pair his longtime point guard with last season’s leading scorer in Shahzaib, who by the way can easily repeat as the scoring champ. And for good measure, lets add two of the best snipers in the league with Moe Rayyan and Sal Rahin. This team will look to play fast as size is not in their advantage and that may work to their benefit. |
