New Jersey (North): Kazan (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 9 | 8-1 | 2 | I don’t have anything against Kazan for all of those wondering. I just think if some of their guys were utilized a bit more, they would be that much better of a squad. Nonetheless, they will probably be in the title game. |
Week 8 | 7-1 | 2 | I know they took care of business against a still talented Granada team that was missing their best player and scorer. But they lack the depth that Tripoli. Pat is one of, if not the best player in the league and he’s practically unguardable. I just want to see more consistency from the other guys. It’s awesome for star players to be surrounded with a bunch of blue-collared players that know their niche. Craig can score, Hart stretches the court with his shooting and the Ozoria brothers are as versatile as they come. A deep playoff run is definitely possible, just may not come to fruition. |
Week 7 | 6-1 | 1 | Did y’all ever question where they would be ranked after putting up a Ben Franklin. |
Week 6 | 5-1 | 1 | Holding onto the number one spot like it’s their job. They beat a very good defensive ball club and beat them good. Held them to 34% as a team and outrebounded them by 10. Only made four out of their twenty, three-point attempts but when you wouldn’t be able to tell from the looks of the final core. They have depth and championship experience. Only remaining difficult game would be Granada, so won’t be surprised if they finish the season 8-1 or 7-2. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 1 | Back on the top after the return of Pat and rightfully so. They defeated a very competitive Bukhara squad and did so in typical Kazan fashion, play defense and give Pat the ball. If I may, Craig needs me more than 8 shots in order for this team to have a shot at repeating. As great as Pat is, taking half of his team’s shots won’t always result in wins. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 3 | Yes, I get it they were without Pat. But isn’t that the moment everyone on this team had been waiting for? To get a moment to shine and get some extra shots? Despite the L, seeing what their other guys are capable of is a bright spot. |
Week 3 | 3-0 | 1 | Went up against a team known for their defensive prowess and they still managed to come away with the win. Pat came back down to earth while the rest of the league breathes a sigh of relief. Only problem is, this team is far from a one man show. Craig is a very good ball player, Hart can stretch the floor and Frank has a midrange game reminiscent of David West. Not to mention they have a handful of blue collar guys relishing in their respective roles. Most complete team in the league as of now. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 1 | All they do is win, win, win, no matter what. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 1 | Although it was only week 1, the fellas looked like they were in midseason form. The full court press was in full effect as they forced 13 TO’s and they could have had more if not for taking their foot off the gas pedal. Pat came one-point shy of matching Delhi’s point total, sheesh. The addition of Craig just makes this team that much more formidable. If I had to nit-pick and point out this team’s one flaw, it’s their composure. No reason to get a technical foul up 25 plus. We’ve learned from previous seasons that point differential can make or break your playoff seeding. Other than that, nice job champs. |
