New Jersey (North): Granada (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 9 | 6-3 | 5 | Big win last week, need to carry that momentum in this playoff stretch that this team was built for. |
Week 8 | 5-3 | 8 | Tough loss without their top player. Would have been nice to see Najib and Pat matchup a few times and light it up back and forth. Final game of the regular season against a red-hot Jakarta squad. They’ll need all hands-on deck in order to pull that one off. Playoff seeding will make or break this team’s chance of a long playoff run. They have the pieces, just hope they get a favorable matchup. |
Week 7 | 5-2 | 5 | They smelt blood and capitalized. Saw that Tehran only had 4 players and made the most of their opportunities. Complete team effort and their clicking on all cylinders. |
Week 6 | 4-2 | 8 | Emotions got the best of them in a game that they rallying back in. These next 3 games could have a major imprint on playoff seeding and whether or not they make a run towards the chip. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 3 | 48 % from the field, 41 % from the 3, 49 rebounds and 16 assists as a team is the definition of great team basketball. The only flaw I can really point out are the zero free throw attempts. Grant it, the large lead probably had the refs not wanting to blow the whistle but you never want to live on the perimeter. Again, probably just game script. Monster stat lines from Anas and Zain each recording a 20 and 10 game. In my opinion this team is the best in the league. I just have them 3rdbecause we’ve seen Kazan and Tripoli perform in the playoffs. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 5 | This team has yet to fully click and they are 3-1. Whoever is bringing up the ball on this team must be salivating at all of their offensive weapons around the perimeter. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 7 | Granada should be a top 3 team with their height, basketball IQ’s and defense. A third of a way into the season, they have yet to play a complete basketball game. This week’s matchup is a nice test to see where they stand amongst the elite. Bold prediction: Omar Abbassi outshoots Fahad. :O |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 8 | This team is missing something. A super reliable PG who can control the tempo of the game, or maybe even a freak of nature SF who is a menace defensively. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 4 | I applaud you Captain Mustafa for assembling quite a roster. Point forward Zain Abdeen, stretch 4 in Khalied, a snipper in little O, mid-range assassin in the savvy vet Islam, oh yeah and let’s not forget he brought back their best scorer in Anas Najib. Down 18 at half, this team didn’t bat an eye as they outscored Riyadh 39-19 in the second half. Looking at the box score, they outrebounded and shot 18 more FT’s than their opponent and that’s how you win basketball games. I think they will miss Singer as a PG, but I do expect Little O to play the part. |
