New Jersey (North): Amman (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 10 | 7-3 | 3 | A forfeit loss dropped them out of contention for the bye week and made them lose all tiebreakers in seeding, but it doesn’t change the fact that they are one of the best teams in the league. They play an underperforming Damascus squad week 1 of the playoffs. They should cruise, but its playoffs so you never know! |
Week 9 | 7-2 | 3 | Triple double alert! Farhad ended with an insane stat line of 27 points, 18 boards, 10 assists, 6 steals, and 1 block. This is probably the most impressive stat line this season. Leonard Lee and Hassert combined for an additional 40 points, and they put Lagos away by almost 40. They are another team fighting for a bye week, and with Medina in their sights, they have a good chance of having another 25+ point win. |
Week 8 | 6-2 | 6 | Again, Farhad showed why he is one of the best MB has ever seen. A near perfect 9-10 from the free throw line and a 32-12-2 stat line, the dude is just a beast. Leonard added in what he does, and this 1-2 punch is arguably the best in the league. Granted, they almost lost to a Damascus squad desperate for a win, but they didn’t. They are a lock to end the season 8-2. |
Week 7 | 5-2 | 7 | It is very hard to win games with just 4 guys, but Amman made the game more respectable than the scoreboard shows. With a fifth player, I believe Amman wins this game easily, especially if that fifth player was Farhad. Both losses they have on the season they were shorthanded. Similar to Bukhara, they need their players to show up to stay a top team in this league. |
Week 6 | 5-1 | 3 | This team isn’t going anywhere. One loss didn’t knock them off of their game. Farhad and the Asian Assassin went to work, taking care of the Ed-less Jakarta. Next game against a struggling Kazan should be an interesting one. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 5 | The mighty have fallen! Obviously losing 1 game off of a game winner isn’t going to knock you out of the top 5. Having only 5 guys hurt them, as they had two players ending with 4 personal fouls. When you have 4 fouls and no bench players, you are forced to play soft, because you don’t want your team to be stuck playing 5 on 4. |
Week 4 | 4-0 | 1 | Beating a strong Dhaka team absolutely means they solidify their number 1 spot. At this point, only a loss can move them down in the rankings. They have a tough schedule, so let’s see if one of the next 3 teams can take them down. |
Week 3 | 3-0 | 1 | We have a new top dog! Amman does not have the easiest schedule so I don’t see them going undefeated, but nobody wants to play this team right now. Between Farhad, Lee, and Ryan, they are a very tough team to defend. It looks like Farhad hasn’t lost a step. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 3 | The return! I am sure 6-17 isn’t what Farhad wanted to do, but 16 points and 14 boards is impressive nevertheless. The real story here is the Asian Assassin Leonard Lee! 27 points week 1, 29 points week 2. Two games in he is 2nd in scoring, and he is doing it on 56% shooting. Amman is a legit title contender. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 7 | Leonard Lee absolutely lit up Beirut. 27-4-6-2 makes him a legitimate contender for player of the week. When this team is fully loaded, lookout. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 13 | The return of Farhad! Does he have a place on MB Mt. Rushmore? Just kidding, Muj. We know it is 4 sculptures of just you. |
