New Jersey (North): Tripoli (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 10 | 6-4 | 14 | No Muj again, and they almost lost to the bottom of the barrel. Jean, Visar, and Yousef were able to hold them off, even after being down 7 at the half. If this team wants to come close to repeating, they have to have full attendance, and they have to play better defense. 60 points tied Riyadh’s season high points total. |
Week 9 | 5-4 | 14 | Muj was a perfect 10-10 from the field, with half of the attempts being 3 pointers. Without big man Jean, they lost the rebounding battle, but they shot so well that it didn’t matter. Tripoli looks to end the season 6-4. It may not sound like much, but if you remember correctly, they ended last season at 6-4 as well. Last season they won the championship. Look out. |
Week 8 | 4-4 | 15 | When Muj isn’t there, this team is always at risk of losing. Jean, Yousef, and Visar gave just enough to still end up with the win. Jean scored 19 and grabbed a game high 16 boards, while Yousef and Visar scored 17 and 14 respectively. They have Anas Zubi and team next week, which should be a good matchup. |
Week 7 | 3-4 | 15 | Oh how the mighty have fallen. When Muj doesn’t play well, the team goes down with him. Yousef did his best to carry Tripoli, but in the end they fell just short. They are now under .500, but they do have 2 easy games coming up. Tehran might give them some trouble, though. |
Week 6 | 3-3 | 12 | You have to show up to the games to play. Not fielding a team not only hurts your team (tiebreakers), but it is unfair to the other team as well. We all paid the same amount of money. We all want to play. Get it together Tripoli! |
Week 5 | 3-2 | 9 | Muj lit it up like always, but Jean couldn’t get it going, so Harash stepped in as the second scoring option. If they do not have attendance issues, I can see the defending champs winning out the rest of the season. |
Week 4 | 2-2 | 9 | I hate for this write up on Tripoli to always be about Muj, but when he shows up, they are a completely different team. They need Muj and Jean to be at every game to have a shot at a repeat championship. |
Week 3 | 1-2 | 14 | When players don’t show up, you shoot yourself in the foot. They played 30 mins of this game with 4 players, and none of the 4 were Muj. Jean is having a great start to the season, but he cannot do it by himself. Muj needs to be there for his team. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 6 | Jean with an absolute monster game again. 16 points and 19 boards on 75% shooting. No Muj, no problem. Even without Muj they had 4 players with double digit scoring. Tripoli wants to prove that the week 1 loss was a fluke. |
Week 1 | 0-1 | 6 | Surprising loss in a game where it seems like nobody played defense. I guess that was the Kanter effect! Jean and Muj combined for over 50 points, and Jean shot 75% from the field on 16 attempts! If you tell me that happened, there is no way I would think Tripoli took a loss. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 1 | Defending champs are back and they don’t look to have many changes. Their core stayed intact, and it’s only right that they deserve the number one spot. |
