New Jersey (North): Fez (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 10 | 6-4 | 15 | Fez has now won 6 of their last 7 games. They were an afterthought in the beginning of the season, and now going into the playoffs super-hot and looking to upset someone. Their first game is against Kashgar, but if they win that game, they are looking to possibly upset Timbuktu in the second round. |
Week 9 | 5-4 | 16 | After starting off 0-3, they have now won 5 of their last 6 games. Amir is finally getting help from his team, and the help is coming from everywhere. It also helps that the entire team is shooting 36.5% from 3, good for 2nd in the league. |
Week 8 | 4-4 | 16 | We have talked about in the past how teams “did not take advantage of a Mo-less Kabul squad.” This is an example of how you successfully take advantage of a Mo-less Kabul squad. Amir couldn’t get going from behind the arc, but was an excellent 9-10 from the charity stripe. L-Rod and Raj also helped take down the top-ranked Kabul team. Although I would like to move them up even more after a win like this, they still have a couple bad losses under their belt, and they’re going to have to win out to crack the top half of the rankings. |
Week 7 | 3-4 | 18 | Fez played a hot Islamabad squad without their best player. The fact that they did not get blown out is kind of impressive. Raj and L-Rod made the game respectable, while the rest of the team combined for 3-26 (11.5%) from the field. Yikes. If the rest of the team was at least a little productive, they definitely had a shot at upsetting Islamabad. They have a tough matchup next week when Mo, Ameed, and the rest of the Kabul team come to town. |
Week 6 | 3-3 | 16 | Winning by 47 is always impressive, even if it is against the worst team in MB. 106 points. Yikes. |
Week 5 | 2-3 | 18 | L-Rod was definitely the player of the game with 14 points and 17 boards. If you told me Amir would be tied for 3rd in points on his team this game, I would have sworn they took an L. “The Other Guys” led them to victory. |
Week 4 | 1-3 | 23 | Amir, 1. Baghdad, 0. Amir came out victorious in the “revenge game.” He received some much needed help from Lawrence and Deep. They are finally in the win column, and they have some very winnable games coming up. Let’s see if they can dig their way out of the lower end of the rankings. |
Week 3 | 0-3 | 25 | Tough start for Amir and team. 3 quick Ls. Next week is the game I am sure he had circled on his calendar though. Baghdad. |
Week 2 | 0-2 | 25 | Like I said last week, I knew Amir would shoot better, but unfortunately it still didn’t result in a win. Even with solid shooting from Deep and Raj, they still fell just short. I don’t see this team being this low for too long. |
Week 1 | 0-1 | 22 | Amir’s new team came up just short. Good news is they have a new big man, and Amir won’t be 2-8 from 3 all year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he follows this up shooting 7-8 from 3. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 16 | Amir said, “I’m out!” He brings in a brand new team, mostly filled with rookies. Fez has a lot to prove. 7/20. Mark it on your calendars. Fez vs. Baghdad. |
