Week 10 2-8 24

They were almost able to grab their second real win of the season, but fell short. Moayad and the Omar’s are the offensive catalysts on this team. They have to shoot more efficiently. They may get lucky if Amman doesn’t have enough players to play, or if they have to play shorthanded. If Amman shows up with a full squad, it’ll be lights out for Damascus.

Week 9 2-7 25

I really expected a lot more from this team. You can tell by the preseason rankings, having them at 10th. At one point they thought they were being disrespected by being so low on the rankings, but now they are 2-7 and play Lahore next week. I wonder where they think they belong now. Food for thought.

Week 8 2-6 23

A valiant effort against a top tier team in Amman. They still lost, but they only lost by 4 to one of the best teams in the league. This shows the type of potential Damascus has. Maybe they can take advantage of a struggling Kazan team this week who may or may not have their best player on the court.

Week 7 2-5 25

They went from a free win to a free loss. When was the last time Damascus stepped foot on a court?

Week 6 2-4 24

Free win. They needed it.

Week 5 1-4 24

Remember when this team complained about being ranked too low? That didn’t age well. They are now sitting at 1-4 after losing to Baghdad by 13. Yikes. I wonder who was missing this time.

Week 4 1-3 21

They scored 12 points in the first half. Yikes. 48 points in the second half nearly brought them back, but when you start off that slow, you really are shooting yourself in the foot. Kudos to them for making the score respectable and not giving up.

Week 3 1-2 20

This is the Moayad we saw on Lahore last season. Finishing at the rack. They still have a lot to prove if they want to move up in the rankings. Beating Lagos isn’t going to do it. A hot Islamabad is coming to town next week. Win that game and they will finally see the increase they want so badly.

Week 2 0-2 21

They played against a top notch Bukhara team that only had 5 guys. Just came up short. I can already see the “::INSERT PLAYER NAME HERE:: wasn’t there” excuse coming.

Week 1 0-1 18

Playing with 5 stinks, but playing with possibly your best 5 doesn’t. Solid spread out offense, they just need to shoot more efficiently.

Preseason 0-0 10

The Omar’s are back, and they added Moayad to the mix. Some new guys and longtime Kazan hustle-man Frank look to make Damascus a team to be feared this season.
