New Jersey (North): Mecca (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 10 | 2-8 | 26 | I don’t know any other way to put this, but Mecca was atrocious. They shot a dreadful 18.8% from the field, and had only one assist the entire game. I have been lucky enough to never see this team play. Hafiz needs to start thinking about what changes he is going to make for next season. |
Week 9 | 2-7 | 26 | Just by looking at the box score, it looks as if Mecca only showed up with 5 players, and 2 of them fouled out. I assume the game was over once they were down to 3 players on the court. It is very unfortunate because judging by the score, it was actually a close game. They were tied at halftime, and then Islamabad pulled away. |
Week 8 | 2-6 | 25 | This was one of the games they had a shot at winning, and they fell short. Fortunately, they still get to play Lagos at the end of the season. Should be a toss-up. |
Week 7 | 2-5 | 23 | Even with Hafiz scoring a career high 25 points, they weren’t able to come out with a W against Suba. They actually shot better from the field and behind the arc than Suba, but just didn’t get enough attempts up. Next week’s game against Kashgar is very winnable and against a team on a similar skill level. |
Week 6 | 2-4 | 22 | Poor Mr. Hassan. My recommendation is that he goes back to Tehran and does the same thing he is doing currently with Mecca for them. It can be the move Tehran needs to push them to the top! A little birdie told me that Ali Omari told Ali Hassan that there is only room for one Ali on Tehran. |
Week 5 | 2-3 | 21 | Fez is a team they should have been able to keep it close with. Losing to them by 19 isn’t a good sign, especially when they have Dhaka coming up next week. |
Week 4 | 2-2 | 20 | Nobody could get it going. They shot 24.5% from the field, and 17.2% from 3. They have a good squad, but I don’t see them beating any top tier teams. That was proven when they got blown out by Sarajevo by 33. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 18 | Way to have a game Mr. Hassan. What was Tehran doing last season? Ali Hassan has went from averaging 9 points, 3.2 boards, 1.8 assists, and 1 steal per game with Tehran to averaging 21.3 points, 4.7 boards, 2.3 assists, and 1.33 steals per game with Mecca. That is a huge turnaround. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 24 | Good performances from Ali Hassan and Farhad. Also, McCloud with a great performance shooting 8-9 from the floor. McCloud is back in MB after an 8 year hiatus. He is showing that he still has gas in the tank. |
Week 1 | 0-1 | 26 | I don’t see this team having enough star power to compete in a very emulous league. Hafiz needs to hire a GM if they want to start putting some Ws together. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 25 | Jeddah is being replaced by Mecca/Hafiz Ebady team. |
