---|---|---|---|
Week 9 | 5-4 | 10 | Disappointing game from Raza and team. Mo really just couldn’t get going, and Paul needs to have way more opportunities. Just 7 shots from their big is not enough, especially being how efficiently he shoots the ball. This is the 2nd time this season Mombasa has had back-to-back losses. I am not sure if that has ever happened before. Nevertheless, this team has loads of talent, and will be a tough matchup for any team. |
Week 8 | 5-3 | 8 | This team can score, rebound, pass, and shoot. Their main focus needs to be on the defensive end. They are allowing way too many points per game (54.9 – 15th). Paul has been an absolute double double machine, and deserves to be mentioned in all MVP talks. They have two big games against Suba and Kazan coming up, and the outcome will decide whether they are ranked towards the top of the standings like usual, or middle of the pack. |
Week 5 | 3-2 | 8 | Paul and Raza brought it to this one - they weren’t going to let Mombasa lose three straight. They are one of the few teams with a lighter schedule to end the season, even though they take on Kazan and Suba in the final two games. That’s how good the league is right now. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 3 | Did not get a chance to watch this game, but wow Paul Sullivan had a day. Would’ve really liked to see how this game went down. They beat a really solid Baghdad group, short Moe Rayyan. Mombasa takes on Suba in what should be a terrific game - find a way to watch this one. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 3 | Knock. Down. Shooter. Moe Masri will rip your heart out if you give him any daylight at all. If you don’t give him any space, he’ll still hit them. Besides Moe and Raza, Mombasa couldn’t get much offense going. Regardless, they played very good defense and prevented Granada from finding any continuity and rhythm. They find ways to win - they’ve been doing it season in and season out. Should be a good one against Baghdad. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 4 | They’re the Patriots of Muslim Basketball. Everyone knows that they are good, they are good, run into a couple of bumps here and there, finish as a top 3 team, compete, if not win, for the championship. They plug guys in and out while maintaining the same core. Goldberg out, Pete Brown in, Pete Brown out, Paul Sullivan in. We’ll see you guys in late March. |
