WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 9 | 2-7 | 16 | This team can’t catch a break. Offensively, they did what you should expect them to do. Joe shot well, Ed filled up the box score, Steve got a double double, and Jason shot efficiently. It just wasn’t enough to put away the high-powered offense of Palermo. |
Week 8 | 2-6 | 16 | The dream team that never dreamt. If you told me before the season that Steve, Ed, Malik, Joe, and Jason were all on the same starting squad, I would have them ranked pretty high. For some reason, they just never clicked. I fully expect this team to be blown up next season. Let’s see what captains can recruit from this team next season! |
Week 5 | 1-4 | 17 | 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists. The only thing stripping Ed from his MVP title last game was his in and out buzzer beater that couldn’t match Moayad’s eventual game-ending layup. Pretty balanced performance from this group all around with 4 players in double figures, but their last-second run to bring the game to a back-and-forth scenario wasn’t enough to close out the W. Easily my number 1 pick as underdog moving forward, especially with Malik back. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 13 | Unexpected loss from this group. Despite missing a couple of key players, I still thought there was more depth in their present team than there is in a full Sana’a squad. They’re going to have to find a way to keep up with the younger legs throughout the league, but otherwise I don’t see any potential issues they might face as we progress through the season. Let’s just see how long they can remain 1st in points and assists per game. I give it another 2 weeks. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 13 | Their week 1 box score is a perfect example as to how, at times, stats can speak louder than words. Other than 2 players, every player on the stat sheet ended the game with double figures in points in harmonious distributions, shooting a near 50% from the field for a whopping 77 points! A balanced offense will surely take you places, but the insanely smooth execution that Jakarta displayed on Sunday may suggest that there’s another major threat to look out for this season. Jakarta, you have put the league on notice. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 13 | A 10 man roster never seems to adjust well in the MB system, but who better to crack that issue than the goat himself, Edriss Froogh! This team is loaded with shooters, from Malik to Joe P, and shouldn’t have a difficult time getting 50+ with the likes of Steve leading the way. Veteran leadership will give their opponents some trouble. |
