Week 9 5-4 12

The defending champs look better than they did last year. They might not be able to beat everyone, but if they get a couple favorable matchups, don’t be surprised if Anwar goes on another terrific run.

Week 6 3-3 11

Played us tough last week even without their star, Anwar. Odeh balled out. Singer is the best shot blocking pg in this league. I want to see more production from Ahmed Sehwail. He’s got the athletic ability.

Week 5 3-2 13

Double OT against a team they should have beaten by 20. A win is a win. Wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for a forty burger from Anwar, included the decisive 5 in 2OT to take it.

Week 4 2-2 13

Not trying to penalize them after a great showing against Delhi. They moved down to make up for teams who should be ahead of them. If we get that kind of effort week in and week out from Granada, they have as good a chance as any to make a run. An Anwar at full health is a scary sight, he just keeps on getting better and better. Shabazz has been a tremendous acquisition, Sehwail has visibly impacted games through effort and hustle, Waqas does what he does in the midrange. They need some more our of Odah though, he’s been somewhat disappointing and way too inconsistent. He’s the guy defenses will be forced to help off, his shot making ability will be the key for Granada’s ultimate success.

Week 3 1-2 11

Here we go again? The champs looked good for the first two weeks, but then broke down defensively and got stifled by Dhaka’s zone. So inconsistent, but they know how good they can be. They won’t be surprising anyone this season, so they need to bring a much more elevated level of focus week in and week out. Teams will give them their best shot, they better be ready to punch back.

Week 2 1-1 8

The champs revamped their roster, most notably, adding veteran Muhammad Shabazz. They struggled against big teams last season, but they were able to handle one of the best front courts in Lahore. Anwar and Waqas will get theirs, Ahmed Odah showed he can go off and take a game on a moments notice. They have a nice thing going - don’t expect them to surprise anyone like last season, but this is a solid group that can take on the top.
