“Give me the ball”

Week 8 6-2 6

Another tough loss to a terrific team that plays with the same hustle and effort as Mombasa. Daniel had a monster game on the boards, but Suba challenged him down low, causing a poor shooting game. As good as Daniel is, games need to go through Raza - his creativity makes everyone around him so much better.

Week 7 6-1 2

Tough game to lose, but it’s not easy to go this long without a hiccup. They have some impressive wins on the year and the loss to Cordoba is a very minor blemish. Three very tough games coming up to close out the season. Look at this as a 1B ranking and Cordoba as the 1A just for the time being - a lot can change.

Week 6 6-0 1

Sadat looking like OG Sedat again - that's a scary sight for the rest of the league.

Week 5 5-0 1

Literally just tossed Baghdad away.

Week 4 4-0 1

When you look at the box scores of their games, couple things pop out, the first being the degree of difficulty pronouncing some of their last names. They also shoot the ball with tremendous efficiency, they rack up handfuls of assists, and they’re opponents struggle to score against them. Those four characteristics make Mombasa a difficult opponent and an early championship favorite. Daniel and Raza are two of the best players in this league - they both play with extreme efficiency and are always a matchup nightmare. Each of them dominate their respective positions are both have strong cases to be MVP candidates.

Week 3 3-0 1

ehhhhhhhhh. alright. 2 very impressive wins entering a big time matchup with Islamabad. Showed up sans Raza - did not matter... Man is Daniel Goldberg scary. 14 and 17 against the incumbent MVP Omar Abbassi. Impressive, impressive game all around from Mombasa. First time in a while that Islamabad looked “meh” for an entire game. Only hit on them would be that they need to knock down some perimeter shots before teams load up and do everything to stop Daniel.

Week 2 2-0 3

Took down Dhaka in a grinder. Both teams struggled to score the ball, but constant foul trouble left Dhaka out of sync. Big game on the boards from Daniel, Ive put together another solid contribution. They got the win, but how often does Farzad put up a donut? They might be for real, but they’ll be tested again this week against the top dogs. Rumor has it they will be sans Raza, that would be a tough task. Kind of have them at 3 because no one else has showed yet they belong up here.

Week 1 1-0 5

Feels kind of weird putting them all the way up here. I feel like they don’t have enough, especially with the loss of Yousef, but they just showed that they do in fact have enough to beat the best of them. Still weary though - CAUTION.
