New Jersey (North): Mecca (D2)
Power Ranking By Week | |||
WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 4 | 4-0 | 1 | Anas Zubi. 39 points. Over 50% from the field. Offense. Scary. In all seriousness Mecca is on a roll finishing the season undefeated. Riyadh gave them a little push this week but they still came up on top. Next week they take on Kashgar in their road to the finals, shouldn’t be a difficult game if they just keep this offensive flow going. |
Week 3 | 3-0 | 1 | Another win and another great game for Anas Zubi who led the way with 24 and hasn’t scored less than 20 this season. Teams have not been able to find a way to stop him and as long as he keeps leading this squad offensively they won’t have much to worry about. They finish the season off against a struggling Riyadh team that ranks 13th in points per game. We can all see which direction this one seems to be heading. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 1 | Huge win against a Mombasa squad that had a lot of potential getting them to 2-0 and they are now one of two teams that remain undefeated. This win puts them at top with Anas Zubi leading the way with 21. If their offense keeps cooking the way it has been lately they can go all the way. Their remaining schedule isn’t too tough either so they can be looking at a 4-0 record headed towards the playoffs. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 2 | This game was over pretty early as the Zubi brothers combined for 43 points. They get their real first test next week against a Mombasa squad that is hungry for a championship. This is probably the game of the week and should be close throughout. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 3 | An offensive powerhouse from last season. Could have gone all the way but went cold towards the end of the season and playoffs. The loss of big man Moiz Latif hurts a little but the addition of Ammar Ildelbi should help close that wound. Anas Zubi was the leading scorer in the league a season ago and it seems like he has unfinished business to take care of. Look for him and Malik to continue to lead this offense and get their shot at a title again. |
