LAST WK: 1

Anotha one. It doesn’t seem like this team will lose a game going into the playoffs, but Timbuktu gave them a run for their money. Inefficient game from Farhad going 3-13 but still put together a great overall line of 15 points 15 rebounds and 7 assists. S/o to Omar Hussein who has been ballin’ the past two weeks! He finished this one with 24 points on 50% from the field, while missing his buddy OQ. And how can I forget Mr. Koyas, with his best scoring output of the season. With OQ they have 4 legit scorers, and a great supporting cast. The team at the top aint coming down anytime soon.

Ummmmm 40? On 14-17????? That is absolutely BUNKERS! Those guys have a family Mr. Itani! All jokes aside, Shafic balled out and his team needed every piece of that. Second highest scorer for Riyadh was Big Moose with 15 points, and they got 8 points apiece from MPJ (Ahmed Ismaeil) and Zubiar. But back to Shafic, boyyyy was straight cooking and was hotter than fish grease! 40 points 9 rebounds and 7 assists and your Week 6 Player of The Week! Can’t wait to see another meme by Idris…..

Three words, MVP or ROTY? Can Mahrooz really win both? The man has been Kabul’s Golden ticket, while the rest of the league is getting plain ol’ chocolate bars (don’t get it, look it up). Omar Singer almost had a triple double but not with assists, rather with steals!!! Dude had his hands in the cookie jar all night! The dynamic duo is no joke, and they are causing havoc on a weekly basis. Moe Dirt, Sadat and Elias all played well and contributed, and they are now 5-1, and I believe just scratching the surface of how good they can be. C’mon cuz did you have any doubt with Ammar a

Quiet game from the Shiesty but his guys brought the clamps for this one. They held Istanbul to 38 points and limited their top guns. We may need to send out a search party for JoJo as the man has been missing over the past few weeks. Not sure what incentive Amman will reward but at this rate, but Mr. Shiesty can’t do it solo. I do believe with Joey^2 they can compete with any team in the league and based on their track record, they are built for the marathon.

LAST WK: 6

So, after an abysmal 1-3 start, this team is suddenly 3-3 and back into the top 5, and quite honestly are we surprised? Led Mr. MVP Hassan Chaabane and fan favorite Lil O, Jeddah did their thing last night. The reigning MVP had 20 points and gave Kashgar a Domino’s Pizza 5 by 5 deal, with 5 rebounds 5 assists and 5 steals. Lil O hit a huge three under 2 minutes left in the game, which ultimately was the deciding factor. The best attribute of this team are their role players knowing exactly what their strengths and limitations are. They defend, they score when asked to and they play together. Sound

LAST WK: 5

Kudos to Sarajevo for pulling this one out despite 4-17 from Omar Mana. Moe Rayyan with 5-11 from the field for 18 pints and Ahmad Saleh had 13 himself. The box score doesn’t paint the entire picture but Raza and Raied were key contributors in this one and helped keep Sarajevo afloat during the stretch. Ironically this may have been the first game all season that Sarajevo has lost the rebounding battle, but I am sure they are content with the W. 4-2 after six weeks, they have nothing to be upset about.

Timbuktu

LAST WK: 8

Let’s start with the positives: They got back Mr. Edriss Froogh, Shahzaib and Muhanad are our new favorite 1-2 punch and they almost pulled off the upset. As for the negatives, they were down big early and despite a colossal collapse by Lagos, they came up just short. Not sure how I feel about Ahmad Chaabane taking 1 shot but he did get injured. Shahzaib may need to help get the rookie some of his confidence back, but they need his outside presence.

LAST WK: 7

After winners of two in a row, the Rugrats came back down to earth, but did so fighting. MB darling Mahdy led his squad with 22 points on 7-15 shooting while Yahya served as the team’s second option last night with a season high 13 points. Jeddah found a way to contain scorching hot Affan and limited his touches throughout the game. Despite the L, this team showed a lot of promise, and we’ve seen flashes of their dominance over the past few weeks post trade deadline. I just believe they ran into a top contender at a bad time. Nonetheless, not concerned about Tommy Pickles, I mean Mahdy and h

LAST WK: 10

Went into the half with the lead but couldn’t hold it down the stretch. Another solid outing from rookie Ali Suiafan with 14 points on 50% from the field and 16 rebounds. Ali Hassan struggled from the field as he shot 5-20 overall. It would have been nice to see more production out of Farzad and Hafiz as they were aggressive in this one early on. They outrebounded Kabul, shot better from deep and had more assists as a group. But what really lost them the game were the 16 team turnovers and that is very difficult to overcome. They final four games are certainly winnable.

LAST WK: 9

Man, oh man are they missing a bigg(z) presence right about now. Billal not being able to play is going to hurt this squad as he is the engine of their offense as well as their best on ball defender. Still, they did keep it close despite a 40-piece Chicken McNuggets performance from Shafic. Amir C continues to play stellar basketball going 8-18 with 25 points, as did Mo Masri and guest Mustafa Abbassi. I certainly think they have the firepower to match any team, but their only issue is their lack of size downlow as well as a true ball handler that can help facilitate the offense.

Istanbul

LAST WK: 11

Frustrating game for the Istanbul bunch as they couldn’t get much going offensively and had to worry about Mr. Shiesty on the other end. Samih Wadi led Istanbul with 12 points, as Aadil had his worst performance of the season going 3-11 on the night. The team was without Sohaib, who would have acted as their primary ball handler, but this team didn’t look in sync all night. Jawad and Splash need to figure out a way to complement each while keeping the rest of the team engaged. I do believe they can muster up a few more wins down the stretch, but it starts and ends with Aadil.

Suba

LAST WK: 12

For starters, they showed way more heart and desire to play than last week. Playing with Zain and Yo shah but they kept it close throughout the entirety of the game. Rookie Mohammed “Medo” Zubi with his best performance yet with 17 points on 50% from the field. As for the rest of the Suba players, they struggled from an efficiency viewpoint. Malik went 4-16, Amir 2-14 and guest Jared 6-17. This team is too talented to be 0-6, but they need their best players to play better on a consistent basis.
