LAST WK: 1

Strong showing from the entire team, including 11-14 shooting from Muj. Sal added 26 points on 9-18 shooting including 8 3 pointers. They are clicking on all cylinders, and have a tough week 2 matchup against a great defensive squad in Mecca.

These guys do not care about the regular season. They are just toning up their skills for the postseason run.

Some new faces, but same old Dhaka. No one in particular stood out but they just get it done, over and over again.

They just got by or we would have a different narrative to start the season. The older Abbassis played extremely well. Missing little O’s shooting right about now, as they need another player to space the court.

Pat who?!?!?! They had 50 rebounds as a team, which equates to a lot of second chance and/or fast break points. Chris Texidor made the smart choice by not going over the salary cap for his boy.

Great team effort against a team they were supposed to beat. Billal looks to be in midseason form as he was without his backcourt mate, posting 21 on 9-18 and 5 rebounds. Yusef and Brandon each had double-doubles and Afay added 18 of each own.  Only negative I can point out is the poor shooting from 3, but that didn’t seem to really phase them, nor affect the outcome.

Luis and Nick led the way with 16 and 11, respectively. Mingo and friends face off against a deep Baghdad squad, and 45 points will not cut it against them.

1)      Came down to the wire, but Mombasa’s size was too much for them to handle. Still, they have a talented and deep squad and should not have issues moving forward. My dark horse for MVP is off to a slow start, but he will get the job done.

Small bump in the road, they will be fine as long as they play within themselves. Too much talent on this team for it not to work.

Major surprise and kudos to them. Muhannad Deeb led the charge with 14 and 17 and played some stellar defense down the stretch. Ahmad is this team’s catalyst and needs to perform better if they want to remain in the top 10.

I was right about the 3PT attempts….. They were expected to win this game.

Scoring 64 points typically wins you games in this league. On the other hand giving up  82 and allowing one man to go 8-16 from beyond the arc doesn’t work in your favor either. They need to tighten up defensively if they expect to be competitive.

Unfairly ranked, but winning this game would have most certainly catapulted them in the standings. Nonetheless, its only week 1.

Perhaps they took their opponent lightly, but this team lacks a true play maker and someone who can facilitate the ball. The collection of scorers is great but there is only one ball to go around.

Held Beirut to 45 points, which is a large task. Defense wins games, but having another scorer may have been the deciding factor.

Lack of guard play can be your detriment in this league. They need someone to create for others.

When your opponent doubles your score, there are not much moral victories. At least they having fun.
