LAST WK: 1

Nothing has changed as far as who’s at the top. Aside from the fact that they’ve had a JV schedule, they are at least meeting expectations. All jokes aside, last night’s game was over from the opening tip. Islamabad capitalized on Cairo’s sloppy play and every turnover led to a transition basket. MVP frontrunner Hassan Chaabane with another night at the office with 26, 8 and 6 on 11-13 from the field. His dominance has overshadowed the collection of talent on this team, as we haven’t mentioned Zain as often as previous seasons. Nonetheless, they will most likely be heading into the playoffs with a donut in the L column.

Woohoooo they won by forfeit, so less for me to write.

LAST WK: 3

If you hear obnoxious clapping, it could only be one of two things, Greek week on a college campus or Alexandria just made a layup. For the sake of this post, lets discuss the latter. ROTY Wajdi led the team with 22 points, 13 rebounds 8 assists and why not throw in 4 more steals too. Jay was getting wiggie out there with 21 points and The Yanes family combined for 46 points and 47 claps.

S/o to the best Abbassi for leading the way with 22 points and knocking down 5 of those thangs from deep. The less talented brothers (I’m kidding) did their thing as well, with Biggz doing his best Shawn Marion impression, 10, 4, 3 and 2. Islam turned back the clock and scored 11 of his own. Omar double-double Mana secured the glass and brought down 19 rebounds. This team has a tendency to play down to their opponents and that could easily get them knocked out of the playoffs, earlier than expected.

They have an embarrassment of riches, and it was on full display last night. Ali Hassan led the way with 26 points. Yo shah with 15 and 7, Nesto had 12, while Sal, Raied and Jean all added 8 of their own. They turned up in the 2nd half and shot 40% from deep on the game. Very few teams can match their offensive onslaught.

After having “The Top Brother Duo” titled stripped from them like Reggie Bush's Heisman, Aadil and Affan rebounded quite nicely. The former led the way with 18 points and 5 rebounds while little bro scored 8 of his own. And how can we forget about Shah Khan? 18 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists for Mr. Bucket and the all-important W.

Winner, winner, Chicken dinner. Coach Feek drew up one of the best in-bound plays you will ever lay eyes on. Two players cut to the basket and collide, ball ends up in the hands of their 5th option, somehow retrieved by Jason who dishes it out to JoJo who called “GAME”! Oh, and Shafic should win POTW for bringing his team back and having 22 points 4 rebounds 9 assists and 3 steals.

Mannequin Mike was cookin’ last night, and I heard he had 8 steals wearing Timbs, sweatpants and a beanie. 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 8 steals are 2k6 Larry Hughes like numbers. Oh, and Big Boi Jake with a quiet 20 piece. Mecca has had an up and down season, but they should be heading into the playoffs with a win streak.

For starters, I would like to welcome back Muhanad Deeb to the good graces of MB. Finally, 14, 8 and 7 is a monster stat line and one that resembles the version we are accustomed to. Ian Felix continues to show why he is one of the better guards in this league with a team high of 22 and Hamza Abdelghani “splashed” in 4 threes on his way to 14 points. If only this team had another guard who can’t seem to show up.

Well for starters, this was probably the most balanced field goal distribution you will ever see from this team. Unfortunately, they just couldn’t connect. It feels like spots 10-16 can be interchanged as none of this teams have been impressive. But Medina has Ed and no one else does.

They move up simply for keeping the game tight. Apparently, no one other than Omar can score on this team. Omar Hussein had 13, Omar Sehwail with 16 and Omar Q with 12. They could have won this game had someone other than an Omar contribute.

Had this game ended after the 1st half they would be higher in the rankings but that’s not how the cookie crumbles. Overall, they had solid contributions from Jehad with 15 points, Mo Amin had 15 points and 8 rebounds and Sohaib with 19.

This team’s lack of success is overshadowing Joey’s phenomenal sophomore season. Capone is leading the league in scoring and was in his bag last night with 27 points on 50% from the field. Malik added 19 of his own on 6-12 shooting but despite their efforts, Tripoli just overmatched them.

I know you guys have two wins, but last night was abysmal.
