#4 Damascus vs #9 Jerusalem
Damascus blew out Jerusalem the first time they met. I don't think that will be the case this time around. Jerusalem is not a #9 seed team. They are much better than their record. With Andre and Victor both back, with Ammar and the other bigs they have, Jerusalem will give Damascus a tough game. Chris H and Jehad will get theirs but the rest of Damascus will need to step up also.

#2 Lagos vs #11 Sana'a
Lagos beat Sana'a in the regular season. No Fernando and no Mustafa that game. Lagos will possibly be playing this game 4 on 5 with many players out. Sana'a has the defense to hold Lagos' offense to under their season average. Lagos will need to step up big time and play smart basketball to advance to the finals.

#1 Kashgar vs #4 Mecca
The first time these two teams played, it ended up with Kashgar winning in overtime by 2 points. Mecca is well rounded team. They have great guards paired with great big men. Kashgar probably has the best squad, top to bottom, MB has ever seen. This will be a game for the ages! A 10-0 team has never won a MB championship.

#2 Fez vs #3 Kabul
Fez beat Kabul in Week 10 with only 5 players. Fez lead most of the game and Kabul was always playing catch-up. Farhad is a great player and Kabul always finds a way to win. Fez is extremely team oriented. Their defense is suffocating and the whole roster can shoot.

Sanaa has been getting pretty lucky so far these playoffs. First Ali Saidi is a no show, now half of Lagos will be missing.

A trip to the finals has been gift wrapped for them.

As a disclaimer I was 8 for 8 in my picks last week. Also, congrats to all teams for making it this far and double congrats to Mustafa Abbassi for making it this far in D1 and D2.

Damascus vs. Jerusalem - I am gonna go out on a limb here and choose Jerusalem to advance to the finals. Should be a close game if all players show up. I just can't see Damascus winning this game with two players attempting 95% of their shots.

Lagos vs. Sana'a - If the rumor mill is correct and Lagos will only have 4 players, the obvious choice is Sana'a to advance to the finals.

Kashgar vs. Mecca - This game won't be as close as last time. Kashgar will force a tempo that Mecca will not be able to play for 40 minutes. One way to do this is utilize a full court press. Kashgar will win by 9 points or so, 66 - 57.

Fez vs. Kabul - Fez will win this game as long as they don't settle for too many threes. Kabul will put up a good fight. I can see this game going either way, but don't think that Kabul will be able to play patiently for an entire 40 minutes vs. Fez's zone. Plus foul trouble will be a problem for Kabul. Fez wins by 7.

Damascus is #4, but anyway, as long as Jerusalem plays at the same level they've been at for the last few weeks, they are the toughest out remaining in D2. If they were able to slice up Baghdad like that, that should prove they are no fluke. Damascus would be best not to take them lightly.

And don't count out Lagos just yet. They've made it through games while missing guys before. It's gonna be a close game, with big hustle on both ends. Should be fun to watch.

And top 4 seeds in D1, basically everyone getting the matchups they wanted to see. No easy wins for any team, they could all go either way. But Kashgar still remains the favorite. In our 11th season, can they break the streak of no undefeated teams winning it all? It definitely won't be a cakewalk, but I think Mecca will have a tough time considering they needed a rousing second half to skate past Medina last week.

These aren't predictions, thats what you're routing for - hoping for what you think would be the path of least resistance to a title. True Heat fan.

Haha, burn. But I don't know, the way Jerusalem has been playing, I think Damascus is a better matchup for Lagos right now.

Ed, don't you want the Kashgar rematch?
