Baghdad-Fez: This game is tough to call, but assuming both teams have their full squads, it will be a nice game iA. In the first matchup between these teams, Baghdad won by 8 without Ahmed R. Fez did not have Isaiah then. Fez is a better team with Isaiah, less turnover prone, and definitely capable of pulling this one out. I haven't seen ahmed r in a while, but even if he does show, i'm going with Fez to win this game iA. Kabul-Jerusalem: Kabul won the first game between these two teams by 6 without pedro. Joe had 8 blocks in that game. I don't know how close this game will be, it could be a blowout if Jerusalem can't defend the low post against Kabul, or it could be close like the first matchup. I'm picking Kabul... Medina-Cordoba: Medina won the first matchup by 9 between these teams. Ahmad Hassan did not play. Assuming that he shows up this week, it will be an interesting game iA. I'm picking Medina... Cairo-Damascus: Cairo beat up on damascus in the first matchup, leading by 22 at halftime and winning by 11. Not sure what to make of this game, damascus has played well this season at times (bukhara game for example), so it could be a closer affair this time around. Cairo wins in a close game iA. Baghdad vs Fez - hmmm this will be a real good matchup .. coin toss ! heads = baghdad, tails = fez .. its TAILS Kabul vs Jerusalem - Ali/Idris vs Andre/Victor .. this is a tough choice but im going with Kabul to win this matchup .. this Kabul team has had flashes of a great team at times this season .. i dont think the #11 team will upset them Medina vs Cordoba - Amre/Alex will put a stop to Ahmad's game winners in the first round .. look for Medina to advance Cairo vs Damascus - i think the afghanis+adham will finally come to play .. they have the size to match Ali Omar and the shooters to light up the scoreboard .. Damascus in a blowout Edited by user Monday, March 28, 2011 2:30:51 PM(UTC)

Fez over Baghdad- Baghdad is a good team and plays hard but Fez is a different team with Isaiah. Ill take the old veteran squad in a close one. Kabul over Jerusalem- This will be another close one in my opinion. The guards matchup pretty even but Kabul has the better bigs. Kabul looks poised to make a deep playoff run. Cordoba over Medina- If ahmad shows up they should win. Medina is a good team with great size but Corodoba plays hard. Anwar should help Ahmad out in the scoring dept. and you dont need to drop many points to beat Medina. They are a defensive minded team. Damascus over Cairo- hmm. I will pick Damascus just becuase they are way more talented. Damascus is another team that has all the right tools to make a deep playoff run but will they keep their composure if the other team makes a run? Baghdad over Fez - Baghdad is a good team and will get the win. Kabul over Jerusalem - the 2nd best role player in the league, Mr. Brennan will block and alter many shots. Jerusalem's strength is dribble penetration and taking the ball to the rack. Unfortunately for them, Mr. Brennan is a foot taller than all of them and will get 5+ blocks and 10+ shot changes. Ali, the ROY, will do his thing while chewing qat and Idris will play solid D and grab boards. Cairo over Damascus - I have a feeling Damascus will not a play a team game. If they do, they will win. Talent doesn't always win games, teamwork does. Cordoba over Medina - As I am on Cordoba I have no choice but to say this. As long as the "role players" don't become trigger happy and focus on getting stops and rebounding Cordoba should pull this one out. Cordoba should let Anwar bring the ball up occassionally as he is a good change of pace to AH. AH vs. Alex should be interesting to watch and Alat vs. Faz should be a slobberknocker. Cordoba will need to contain Amre Hamdouda. Medina have solid role players and will come to play. This will be the closest game of all the first round matchups.
