Round 1 (Thursday July 7, 2011)
5 Fez (5-5) 12 Jerusalem (2-8) Fez has the guards to score and the big men to play D. If they bring their full lineup, it should be a 20+ pt victory.
6 Baghdad (5-5) 11 Islamabad (3-7) After starting 0-3, Baghdad started making some changes. Now they have a solid team with a great leader in Jay. Islamabad always seems to be short manned. They have no consistent scorer. They have two players who barely average 10 ppg. The past two games though, they have managed to lose by a few points. They'll need someone to step up big time if they want to see the second round.
7 Kabul (4-6) 10 Cordoba (3-7) Kabul defeated Cordoba in Week 1 by 6 points without Edriss and half a game from Muj. Cordoba brought some size on during the season with the addition of Hasham to help their height disadvantage but Kabul's talent and chemistry will give them a 10+ pt win.
8 Cairo (4-6) 9 Medina (3-7) What an upsetting season it has been for Medina. The green machine, one of the greatest and most recognized team in MB, has hit their low this season and I think this will be the end of their reign. The team that turns it up every playoffs, will need to hit that switch one more time to keep their run. Isaiah and Champ will need to find ways to score, because Medina won't make it easy for them. If Cairo can limit Ardell, then they should be moving on.

Fez- Jersulam.
Easy victory for Fez. Guards are unstoppable and they have the best center in the league hands down
Bagdad- Izlamabad
Tough choice here but Bagdad is gonna take this. They have the stride to do it but they must watch out for number 23 once he gets going thats it. None on bagdad could stop him
Kabul- Cordoba
Sorry Idris, Im going against u in this one. This is going to be an upset. LEts go Cordoba
Cairo - Medinah
Going with Medinah. They is very strong especially with the leading scorer in the league.

This is lining up to be our best playoffs yet. If the seeds win out in Round 1 we will have some great Elite 8 matchups, highlighted by some hotly contested rematches.
This is going to be fun. |
