My bro-in-law came with me today to chill and have fun. No one showed on time so he got pressed to do the scorekeeping for game 1 on the old court. He was told he would have to do just until someone showed up.

I was scorekeeping the game on the new court. At half of my game, I saw it was 4 minutes into the 2nd half and he was still manning the scoreboard. I told 3 MB players, one who is on the stat committee that its not his responsibility and someone should take his place, and the message was acknowledged. Afterwards I found out my bro-in-law was at the scorers table the entire game. Its not cool, it BS. A 13 year old kid was pushed into doing the scorebaord the whole game when he was told it would be 5 minutes, and he was going just to chill. And on top of that you have players (adults) screaming at him while he doing them a favor on the scoreboard.

Not cool Fellas.

thats messed up. personally i think they should get rid of stats all together.
1. noone takes responsibility for doing stats
2. when people even do stats they butcher them horribly, points are usually kept accurately but assists and rebounds are terribly kept all the way around. literally over half of my assists werent counted this year and my team could attest to that. (including my team too)
3. players get frusturated and start yelling at stat keepers
4. players begin playing for stats (andrayblatcheitus)

i love seeing my stats as much as anyone but i think its too much of an issue

Right now it's just scorekeeping and foulkeeping, so it's really just a 1 man job. Your bro-in-law did a great job, and then someone did come to help him a few minutes into the game. When that happened, he should have been relieved of his duties. I was too into the game to realize that he didn't need to keep score anymore, but in all honesty he should have just stopped doing it once that other person came cuz one man can keep track of both scores and fouls.

Overall though, this just emphasizes the need for hired statskeepers so we can ensure that the first game on both courts has someone showing up (just like refs). Thanks to you and your brother-in-law though, the help is definitely appreciated. Thanks to the other people who volunteered throughout the day as well.

Yeah man since stats are such a big deal for everyone, I think next year you should consider paying people to come in and do stats. Nobody ever wants to volunteer and I don't think Bukhara kept stats at all this whole season even though they were scheduled to. So scheduling Teams to do stats doesn't work either because people aren't responsible. Insha'Allah next season will be better.

Omar, your brother in law did a great job Sunday. Thank him for me. AR said that someone showed up a few minutes into the game to help with the score. That was me. When I got there I offered to relieve him of keeping score, and he declined. I actually offered more than once through the course of the game, so I just did the fouls and timeouts. He did a really great job with the score, even when the game got heated and people were getting mad. But you're right, he shouldn't have had to be put in that situation to feel obligated to help out.
