THE CAUSE
Kashmir has been under Indian Occupation since 1947 and is the most militarized zone in the world, with over 700,000 indian soldiers. The Indian government is rapidly advancing the settler-colonial project, sending settlers in to steal land and criminalizing dissent. The brutal military occupation continues to silence Kashmiris and carries out extrajudicial killings, home demolitions, torture, and sexual assault and rape of Kashmiri women with 0 impunity.

THE ORGANIZATION
Chinar stands for the empowerment of orphans, vulnerable children and marginalized youth in Kashmir through quality education and socio-economic initiatives. Chinar helps Kashmiris in need via long lasting, large scale change through holistic programs including:

3) Child/Youth Development
4) Livelihood and Additional Support
