Nazareth

LAST WK: 1

It might’ve been a 4v4 for most of this game, but it’s clear who the better 4 players were. Elias had 28 points, while Amir secured a double-double (20pts, 10reb). A casual day in the office.

Areeha

LAST WK: 3

Areeha was missing Ehsan Popal, but put away a scrappy Rafah squad. Musa Yanes continues his campaign to erase his last CNJ Summer season from everyone’s memory, going for 29 pts on 10-15 shooting on the day. Sheff contributed 19pts and 7 rebounds on 8-16 shooting. They put this game away with ease.

Sheikh Jarrah

LAST WK: 6

Abdelrahman Elashry is quickly developing into a star player, going for 21pts and 10 boards. Not to mention Zion Hammond, who made his MB debut scoring 18 points on 8-12 shooting. Shoutout to Ahmed Elkasabi, (11pts, 5-5) going perfect on the day is hard to do. Arjun had a quiet day but still made his impact on the boards. This is one of the hottest and most hype teams in Central at the moment, and all props go to Ahmed Ismaeil, who is a favorite for GM of the season with this squad he assembled.

Al-Khalil
--
LAST WK: 4

Say what you will about this squad, but Elton is currently playing at an elite level (21pts, 10reb) and is leading this team to hard fought wins. Desar also looked to have changed his game up a bit, he tacked on 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Not to mention the role players; rookie Ryaan Amjad might’ve had a quiet offensive day, but he had 4 blocks. The Haifa-to-Al-Khalil rebrand is working to perfection, fellas.<

Ramla

LAST WK: 13

Ramla gave Isdud an absolute drubbing this morning, not to mention a nice bounce back win from last week. Mattias Arrindell is borderline unstoppable—finishing with 34 points on 13-23 shooting on the day. Omar Subhani is finally finding his groove too, having 18 points. If he can find a way to limit his inconsistencies, he could really become a problem for other teams. Sami Butt had 16 of his own points, not to mention 6 assists. This is a dangerous, dangerous team.

Isdud

LAST WK: 2

Isdud was short handed in this game, and you can’t do much when you let an opposing player drop 34 points on you. Leading the team was Mohamed Albana with 21 points and 12 boards. Not to mention a stellar day from Anas Ani with 19 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists. Once they get their pieces back, I’m sure it’ll be back to business as usual.

Akka
Akka

LAST WK: 11

An absolutely MASSIVE win from the short-handed Akka squad behind Omar Abbassi’s 34 points on 11-18 shooting. Usman Khan had 14 of his own, with massive boards to close out the game. Not to mention Araiz Spall, who had 11 points. Tarek Hamid had a game-high 7 assists; a truly unselfish player. Sure, they had a comfortable lead which they nearly blew towards the end of the game. But it’s all about the dub, folks. And the fact that no one has an answer for wrecking ball Abbassi.

Bir Seb'a

LAST WK: 5

An absolute heartbreaking miss for Mohammad Popal to tie the game at the end of regulation. But there’s always positives to take away. Abdul Mutaleb (24pts, 8-18) looks like he’s getting back to form, and I’m sure no team wants to see him when his shots start falling. Mohammad Popal finished with 19 points, with some clutch 3s to make this game within reach. They were down by 14 at the half, and the game came down to a single shot. A lack of rebounding lost them this game.

9
Beit Jala
--
LAST WK: 9

They won a 4v5, and each and every one of these players deserves their flowers. Daishon was unstoppable, he had 30 points being 6-10 from 3. Mo Amin is a confirmed double-double whenever he’s on the court (15pts, 10reb). Ronny Sawwan held the paint down, finishing with 6 points and 8 rebounds. And Subhan finished with 20 points on a solid 8-16 shooting. Maybe the Sakar boys should let these four run the team.

Tubas
Tubas

LAST WK: 12

Back with their full team, the rebranded Tiberias squad gets their first win of the season behind a solid performance from Omar Singer (17pts, 5asts) and Ameer Koyas (14pts, 6-10 shooting), both of whom missed the first game. Mahrooz finished with a double-double, with 11 points and 11 boards. They held off a strong Al-Bireh team, and I have no doubt that they’ll give everyone they face a hard time with the chemistry they’ve built over the last two seasons together.

Al-Balah

LAST WK: 7

Yea it was a 4v4. 3v4 after Minhaj went down with an injury. They still have Messiah, so I’m not going to penalize them too much. Raheem led the team with 25 points.

12
Yazur
Yazur

LAST WK: 8

They had a great win last game to start their Central MB careers, but it seems like they’ve crashed back down to earth. Marawan led the team with 10 points and 9 rebounds, and towers over most players on the court. Which begs the question, why not play through him? One player shooting 4-14, and two shooting 2-10 won’t win you any games. It seems like the players on this team don’t know their own strengths and weakness’.

13
Al-Bireh

LAST WK: 10

A tough outing for Mairaj and his boys, who didn’t seem prepared to play this week. Mike Johnson had 17 points and 5 steals, and was causing havoc for Tubas with his strong defense. Iyaad had a quiet game (11pts, 9reb), and wasn’t attacking the basket like he normally does. With a team like Nazareth coming up, I’m not sure if they’ll find their footing just yet.

Rafah

LAST WK: 14

They were missing three players which I’m confident would’ve made this game a lot closer than it was. Muj led the team with 17 points, while Adam Spengler continues to have a great season for himself, going for 16 points and 7 boards. To the missing pieces, attendance is part of the game, boys. Lock in.

LAST WK: 16

A tough outing for a scrappy Baysan team, led by Kasey Ramsey (21pts, 7-13 shooting). They got some good players on the squad, but a lack of chemistry might be the big issue here.

Losing a 5v4 is tough to do, but they did it alright. Like I said last week, it’s going to be a long season for this team. Hopefully they figure it out.
