This was a one-point game a little into the second half, but Yuzur does what they do best—blow the competition out of the water. And you can tell they missed having Mountaka on the court. One thing about Yuzur is that their full-court defense and fast break offense is nearly unmatched. They don’t lose steam in all 40 minutes and no one, and I mean no one, can keep up.

Down goes Goliath. In an exciting game that went down to the wire, they took down one of the more complete teams. You’d think Lil O would be the star of the team, but it’s quickly becoming Fursan, who’s scored 58 points over the last 3 games. Like I said, team chemistry is off the charts.

LAST WK: 1

A heartbreaking, yet thrilling loss to Areeha. Everyone was getting the ball as Amir Hassan had his coming out game (14pts) and Mana returned to his usual self (17pts, 13rbs). Shafic has been Mr Consistent since the season began and I do think he’ll put himself in MVP conversations very soon. I can’t see them losing much more, and if they do, it’ll be close.

Omar Singers debut came with a 40-point bomb that I don’t think anyone saw coming. Is he the missing piece they needed? Having him eases up pressure on Mahrooz and Sal gets a green light wherever he goes, who both still dropped good amounts in game (12pts, 10pts). The team looks like they’re finally having fun.

Two of their cornerstone players sat out and they squeezed out a win from a strong Sabra squad. Must’ve felt good for Sami and Kareem, who were part of this team last season. Ammar took the reins, but give the ball to Mo Amin. Dude can be problems on the board and in the paint when he gets going.

P.S. I hear you guys. You’re right where you belong.

Must sting, losing to a team that has two of your former players running it. Besides that, a monster game from Mohamed Albana (9pts, 21rbs) and that’s really it. AB, Ahmed, and Malik helped out but an overall bad shooting day from three will hurt you. They’ll be tested against Ajjur next week.

There’s only much you can do when a player drops 40 on you. But take the good— Ehsan and Ishaq are looking great. Musa Yanes struggled but I can’t see him struggling going forward and Mohammad Popal will get back in his groove. They need to get going fast next week against a dominant Areeha.

A three point game at the half shows that this team is way better than the final score. Not to mention Husan going down 10 mins into the game—even though he came back, he didn’t look the same. Even though they have a tough matchup going forward, i think they’ll find their footing.

Tulkarem

LAST WK: 9

Big round of applause to Tulkarem who finally got their first real win. But to be real—they had a massive lead against Haifa which they blew, barely edging by in the end. Messiah (19pts, 16rbs) is a blessing to this team.

Finally, a win. You can say Anas is carrying this team in stats, but you might forget that Salman Ilyas is having his best rebounding season in the vets 8 year career. Board man wins games.

Scoring more than one point in a half—chalk it up to a win I guess? Regardless, this team desperately needs Ahmed Kouar to come back.

It’s always a tough week when you remain winless, but tying the game up late shows promise going forward. One thing I’ve noticed—they need to take their time on possessions. They score more when they’re passing, and have a bad habit of walking the ball up and chucking a bad three.
