LAST WK: 6

Shafic and Mana looking like the ultimate PG-C duo out there. Mana with his typical 19 and 14 and Shafic with his own 22 and 8. Shafic had a couple of iso plays that just read “can I have this dance” and boy, did he make them dance. Let’s not forget that we just saw a 5 foot 6 Elias absolutely put the clamps on 6’-3” Big Moose. Bro was watching Jrue Holiday clips before the game. Humble guy though saying Musa was just off. Though that statement has some truth to it, his defense was d

Talk about a comeback win. Game was basically lost when Ammar gets a clutch steal, dribbles up the court, and drills a crazy 3 to cap off his 20 point night. Did he call bank tho? In any case, 3 points is 3 points and Shatila took home the dub. Side note, Father Sami really gave Kareem “Free Throw Merchant” Shaban the ultimate green light. Hopefully he starts making some more shots, just saying…

They held Yazur to 0 points and took home the dub. They deserve this 3 spot, I guess…

You could tell this team was missing their floor general in Ishaq. They live and die by the 3, and shooting 6-37 behind the arc won’t cut it against a team like Nazareth. Big Moose was also getting visually frustrated. Have a feeling he’s going to channel that for next game, but only time will tell.

LAST WK: 11

From losing by 40+ to grinding out a victory against a strong Sabra team must feel like a nice bounce back for these guys. Mahrooz put them on his back after a slow start and put on an absolute show. From nasty and-1 layups to flexing on ‘em, you couldn’t ask for more as he dropped 20 and 8 on 80% shooting. Newcomer Raahim slowly got into his groove as well and secured his own 13 and 7. Was truly an exciting game that went down to the wire.

LAST WK: 10

After going down 17 to 4, it looked like Akka was about to repeat last season all over again. They composed themselves and went on a run with the whole team getting involved. The more the ball swung the less the deficit became, and that’s not something we’ve seen Akka do a lot of. Bilal Matin absolutely tearing it up down low with 16 and 12. With 4 players in double digits and Yusuf flirting with a triple double, Akka finally looks like a team you have to matchup against.

LAST WK: 3

Only Mohamed Albana cracked double digits with 11 points, while the next highest scorer was with 6. Ryan shot 1-10 from the field and missed the game tying 3, so we won’t be talking about that lab work we brought up last week. Even with almost everything going wrong towards the end, they only lost by 3. Let’s see if they can bounce back against a (well rested) Areeha team next week.

Ajjur

LAST WK: 8

Husan Zakir poured in 19 and 12 and left all the “Yazur B-Team” talks in last week. Abdullah Sillah and Essa put up 12 a piece, and Ajjur fended off a pesky Bir Seb’a team and got on the board with a win. Completely unphased by all the noise, Husan is looking to lead this young team and make some noise in the league.

Tulkarem

LAST WK: 7

If you could sum up “heart breaking loss” in 2 plays, just look at the end of this game. I don’t know if Minhaj thought this was Sunday morning football with that last Hail Mary pass, but man that was tough to watch. That turnover led to a game winning bank shot 3 pointer. Big man #22 (sorry I don’t know his name) was a bright spot and looks to be a real matchup problem for other big men. 2 tough losses for tulkarem, but fully expect them to bounce back and get on the board soon.

Bir Seb'a

LAST WK: 12

So everything we heard about Anas was true, that man is a baller. First game in and he dropped 32 points, that too after landing just the night before. Jet lagged 32 points is different. Danesh showed up this game and put up his own 11, 7, and 5 to go along with 2 steals. Everyone else, well, didn’t do so well. Last week we said Mahmoud Zayed is a better shooter than 4-14, so he decided to go 2-14 this week. Let’s hope he channels this and shows us why he was the 3 point champ last season. </s

Usama got that strap, dropping 28 points on 5 threes is impressive. He started off the game flaming hot and made some insane threes, but unfortunately the rest of his team couldn’t keep up. Losing by double digits both weeks will land you last on the power rankings. They’re up against Nazareth next week which is no walk in the park, so let’s see if they can get on the board even though all fingers are pointed the other way.
