LAST WK: 1

Even though they went up against a 4-man Khan Yunis team, Yazur still shot the lights out scoring a league season high 103 points. Alassane showed up as he does every week with a solid 27 points on 70% shooting. Taka wasn’t messing around either, pouring in his own 18 points, 10 assists and 0 turnovers. But y’all really let a 4-man team put up 77 points? Sheeessshhhhh. This game most likely would’ve had a different outcome if Khan Yunis wasn’t handicapped. Rematch in week 8 will be an exciting one.

LAST WK: 2

Is it even a Rafah game if Sami Shaban doesn’t call a timeout 3 possessions in to yell at his team to pass the ball? We think not. It worked out though, as they grinded out a 2 point win in a game that was no less than a nail biter. They kept a pesky Tulkarem team at bay and fended off a late game comeback, with Abdullah Mahmoud leading the way with 18 points and 6 boards. Looks like they have at least 4 different players who can lead the team in scoring in any given game, which goes to show how well rounded they are.

LAST WK: 3

1 week no Shaharia, another week not enough players to even start with 5. Looks like they still can’t figure out their staffing issues.

Even with 4 players, they put up a very solid 77 points against the best defensive team in the league. They probably would’ve won by 10+ if just one more of their players skipped a little on the beauty sleep. Who’s that dude dunking off of 2 feet with ease btw?? If they can consistently get 5 players to show up, this is probably the most skilled team in the league. Till then, we can only hope and dream.

Tulkarem

LAST WK: 4

Tulkarem proved to us no matter how much time is left on the clock, they still got that fight in them. They chipped away at Rafah’s lead late in the second half, but unfortunately for them couldn’t squeeze out the win. Raheem lead the way with 18 points on 50% shooting. They need to do a better job of taking care of the ball, because as we saw here those late game turnovers likely cost them the game. Or wait, maybe it was Subhan forgetting his jersey that cost them…

With Aaron back in action, there’s no doubt that they can go head to head against any team in the league.

Bir Seb'a

LAST WK: 5

Salim lead the way (again) with 21 points and 7 rebounds while they took down Ajjur. Still comedic watching this team play as all fingers are pointed at each other at every turnover/missed shot/miscommunication. Aymen is on a cold streak - and shooting 5/21 as he did tonight against the better teams in the league won’t result in Bir Seba’a wins. They have 2 more games to figure it out till playoff time comes around.

LAST WK: 6

Sheikh Karim came back and stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points and 3 steals. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to pull out the win, but credit to them, as they played hard till the final buzzer. They had some good looks that didn’t fall, so there’s no sleeping on this team regardless of their record.

LAST WK: 8

Akka finally gets on the board with their first win of the season. Omar Khan had a flamethrower attached to his arm in the first half, and ended the game with 27 points on 7 threes. As long as they win their next 2 games, there’s a good chance that this team pulls off a few upsets in the playoffs.

LAST WK: 7

You don’t want to be the ones to give a team their first win this late into the season, but they can redeem themselves when they match up with Akka again in week 8. Despite their loss, it looks like Mahmoud Ghanem finally shook off the jitters as he put up a cool 17 points and grabbed 6 boards. The young buck is definitely a bright spot on this team.
