Islamabad was HOT today coming out the gates. They were lighting it up from 3 early, and as a result, they remain undefeated. This is Adam’s last week so it’ll be interesting to see how they make up for the lost 20+ ppg he provided. But for now, this team deservedly sits atop the standings, and the power rankings. 

Big day for Al-Andalus getting a crucial win over the formerly undefeated Delhi. 2 scorers at 20+ and Drew Mohr continues his reign of double-doubles. He’s on the fast track to another MVP unless someone else steps up. The key to beating these guys is yet to be found (except by Islamabad I suppose).

Mecca. Boy do I love seeing these guys hoop Masha’Allah. You always get the feeling that there’s enough talent and it’s just about putting it all together. Very efficient day from the Ahmad brothers. And the addition of David F has been a valuable one. Keep rolling this way and Mecca may see a top seed in their future. 

Rough day for Delhi. Starting off down by 10 cause of jersey violations is hard enough, but allowing 70+ more points after, is even worse. In their first week without IJ they were struggling. Lots of ill-advised shots and of course some good shots that just rimmed out. 2-0 was an impressive start and 2-1 doesn’t look too bad either. But the season is short, and with teams like Mecca turning it up, Delhi can’t afford to lose. Im sure they’ll return to their week 1-2 form of smart defense and raining 3s. But, they slide on this weeks power rankings. 

Medina just struggled with the same thing they have all season. The lack of an offensive spark is killing them down the stretch. They came out early and took a lead, but as the game progressed, their one-dimensional style just became a little too predictable. Gonna be really important for some of the guys on this squad to step up. If they can net some wins, Omar A may have a word or 2 to say about that MVP race.

Take your pick, Tarim or Medina, some weeks one looks better than the other, but it’s been pretty rough. I try and give them a pass because they haven’t played together much, but, the offense just runs through too few people. They have the ingredients, it’s just about finding the right mixture. Still not totally out on them, but they need to start ramping up soon. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s gotten better. Muhammad R, when hot, has shot the lights out, and they’ve found an offensive initiator in #1 Mohammad T, both those guys averaging 20+ a game, just nuts. But they’ve gotta find some wins.
