Week 6 4-2 9

Without Ammar in the lineup Istanbul collapsed in their last regular season game. They’ll need to play with the same team ball mentality that has worked efficiently in their wins this season. If they can play at the quick pace we have seen them capable of playing at before they should be able to take this one. Keep an eye on this matchup against Alexandria though, should be one of the interesting games this weekend.

Week 5 4-1 7

Istanbul with a statement win this week! They took down Mombasa with Ammar finishing with 26 & 14 and Adam adding on 14 & 14. Much needed win and now they take on a Mecca squad that is looking to get back on the winning side of things after getting their own win this week. Another interesting game to keep an eye on.

Week 4 3-1 9

Their streak of wins has come to an end. Facing their toughest opponent yet they looked a little disoriented and couldn’t stop Beirut on offense. Things do not get easier from here as they take on Mombasa next week. Mombasa has been a little strange lately but if they have their full squad available it won’t loom well for Istanbul unless they get their offense clicking again.

Week 3 3-0 9

Another win over another struggling team. They’re now 3-0 but against a combined record of 1-8 in their first three games. This is not to take anything away from them but they have yet to be pushed by a winning team and I would love to see their great play translate against a tougher opponent. They get the chance to do just that next game against Beirut who is hot and coming off a nice win.

Week 2 2-0 9

Another win over another struggling team. They do play a great team game but they haven’t had any really challenging games on their schedule thus far so it’s too early to say what this team’s limit is. Next week they take on a Sana’a squad that is hungry to finally get into the winning column. This game should be more of a test for them.

Week 1 1-0 9

Nice shooting percentage from this team which got them the win, Adam led the way with 15&10 and were able to take advantage of a week offensive showing from Kashgar. Not the flashiest of wins but if they play the same way they did this week it should be enough to beat Suba next week whom also struggled on the offensive end.

Preseason 0-0 10

Loved this team a season ago, loved them before they went on a little hiatus seasons ago, and love them now. These guys can really go after the ball, if you’re looking for a gritty team that can hurt you on defense and score efficiently on offense look no further than Ammar Saymeh and Co. How will they fare this time around is a question that I cannot answer until I’ve seen just how rusty they’ve gotten since we’ve last seen them.
