Granada vs Jerusalem - GAME OF THE WEEK

There should be a lot of action away from the ball in this game. Granada will look to get Shafic into scoring position off the ball with Omar pressuring him. Jerusalem will use screens and cuts from guys like Malik Zubi to put Granada’s paint defenders in conflict. If Deep can drag bigs out of the paint for Jerusalem, they can get open looks. Khaled Sehwail needs to be a second line of defense for Granada when the initial man gets beat.

Jerusalem can repeat last week's formula and create easy looks at the rim against a defense that hasn't solved the problem.

Gaza vs Kabul

Both teams showed in stretches last week that they can protect the paint. Nick was big for Gaza and Hassan and Elias were key in Kabul’s zone. This should put more focus on outside shooting. Gaza wasn't forced into many attempts while Kabul could not hit their shots. Muntaser's shooting for Gaza and Mustafa Sajjad's shooting for Kabul could help tilt the game in their team’s favor.

Gaza was efficient in limited attempts last week so they appear more likely to pull ahead.

Cairo vs Damascus

This game could be won or lost by who is getting to loose balls. Cairo needs to utilize their advantage on the glass with Mahrooz and Muhanad, based on how their offense was looking. Damascus just got outrebounded by 10 with Hosam and Moe Raj combining for just 6 boards last week, but they did enough to pull out the win. Daniel Assaf will need to take on big matchups for Cairo defensively. Hosam has to be a factor on the boards and in the paint for Damascus to compete physically inside.

Damascus just needs their bigs to play at a solid baseline, which they proved they can do last week.

Beirut vs Istanbul

It will be interesting to see how both these teams respond after less than ideal spacing last week. Mahdy was getting crowded by the zone and Beirut didn't have the passes to punish them. Ali Hassan and Ali Suiafan were getting doubled on screens for Istanbul without any threat of a roll. Ramzy will be important for Beirut if his shot is falling and he is a decisive scoring threat. Ahmad Asfour can provide shooting for Istanbul without sacrificing size.

Mahdy will adjust to the game but Istanbul has not proven they will adjust quick enough defensively.
