New season, new teams, new players, welcome back to another season of Muslim Basketball! Last season we saw amazing talent week by week as the top players in the division played their hearts out trying to lead their teams to glory. These players went the extra mile for their team and without them on the court their teams would fall in shambles. The effect they have on the court can be seen through both what does and does not show up on the stat sheets; it's the little things they do that help fuel the fire of their teams. Through their leadership and great play, week in and week out, they hope to do everything in their power to elevate their teams to the next level. These aren't any ordinary players, these are MVP caliber type of players. Welcome to this week's edition of the KP MVP Ladder.

1. Patrick Jaramillo, Kazan

The rookie has been nothing short of amazing this season impressing on all fronts of the floor. His latest stellar performance came against Mombasa where he finished with 31 points shooting 67% from the field and added on 7 boards, 6 steals, 2 blocks, and 2 assists. Kazan’s full court press is something to watch and Patrick has been leading this team to win after win. One more game against an injury riddled Mecca team and Kazan can find themselves in a great position heading into the playoffs.

2. Aymen Abdelfatah, Suba

Suba has been the surprise of the season with only one loss this season against a solid Córdoba team. Aymen went from a team dead last in the standings to a team leading the pack this season. With a solid support team around him Aymen has been able to reach his full potential almost averaging a double double with 15.8 points and 9.7 boards on the season. Suba can and will be a scary team to play this season with the likes of Aytac and O’Neal in the rotation. I did not give credit to Suba when it was due earlier on in the season but after seeing the impressive play lately along with their big time wins I’m convinced Suba is prepped for a deep playoff run.

Last Week’s Ranking: 5

3. Daniel Goldberg, Mombasa

Man did Mombasa need Daniel in this last one almost completing their comeback and coming out with the victory. He struggled from the field in his last outing two weeks ago finishing with 8 points on a poor shooting performance but finishing with 24 boards and 3 blocks. That defensive presence is something they could’ve used against Kazan. Nonetheless Mombasa has now lost3 in a row however do not be mistaken, if this team is hot they are hot. With Daniel back in the lineup this team will be a threat you can be sure of that.

4. Mujtaba John S, Jakarta

Mujtaba come back! Jakarta has been amazing this season but has not been able to show up to all of his team’s games and they haven’t looked as intimidating without him in the lineup. Aside from being the all time leading scorer in MB history, Mujtaba’s averaging a career high 22.2 points on almost 50% shooting. He’s got 180 games to his name and yet it seems like he just keeps getting better with age like fine wine… The attendance is the only knock that I have on him and it wouldn’t be fair to have him over others who haven’t missed a game. This team can potentially be in the finals though so long as Mujtaba makes his presence felt.

Last Week’s Ranking: 3

5. Jon DeJesus, Lahore

Have to give credit where credit is due. Jon’s been leading another top team in the league with some impressive stats averaging 21.3 on the season on over 40% shooting from the field along with 6.3 boards and 3.2 assists. Jon’s got some experience on a big time D1 championship team and he has been tearing it up this season. Lahore doesn’t look like the most intimidating team on paper but Jon and Herb have been there and done that in the big leagues and they too are posed for a big time postseason run.
