Lagos/Giza - Giza played a very discipline game for the most part. Good ball movement, good movement without the ball, and that led to a lot of open looks. Victor has been tearing it up from deep, he has unlimited range right now, he's pulling the trigger from 30ft away and makin em, its crazy. This game felt like a blow out, but when I looked up at the scoreboard, midway through the 2nd half, Lagos was only down 6. It was mainly from penetration by christian setting up open looks for others, and capitalizing on fast break opportunities. Lagos lost a little focus after a couple of bad calls. After it was down to 6, Giza went on another mini run with penetration from andre, and that was pretty much the game. Giza looked much better this week than the previous 2 weeks.
Islamabad/Alexandria - Islamabad was able to contain Muj, but that led to open looks for other shooters. It felt like everytime Islamabad got close, someone hit a 3 for Alexandria. Islamabad tried to play through Shareef, but Alexandria did a good job collapsing on him in the middle. The final score was pretty close, but it seemed like an uphill battle for islamabad most of the game.
Dhaka/Sarajevo - Aymen played a great game, he makes some awefully difficult shots sometimes. But really this game came down to Sarajevo once again being shorthanded. I dont think Maher or Khuram have played yet, but if you only get 5 guys to the game it leaves very little room for error. Dhaka slowly built a 10-pt lead with about 5 minutes to go in the 1st half. Sarajevo came to life and tied it just before the half, Abdul hit a buzzer beating 3 to give Dhaka a 3pt lead at halftime. Dhaka held a single digit lead pretty much the entire 2nd half, Sarajevo battled but had to foul late to stop the clock. Sami fouled out leaving them with 4, then a 2nd player fouled out seconds later - ending the game.
Baghdad/Jerusalem - didnt see it, pretty shocked Baghdad lost this. I clearly underestimated Jerusalem.
Timbuktu/Kazan - Thought Kazan would give them a better game - Timbuktu is the most balanced team right now. They can create matchup problems with their 3-headed monster against pretty much any opponent they face.
Bukhara/Palermo - saw a little bit of this one. Seemed like Bukhara was never really threatened in the 2nd half. From what I saw, Palermo missed a lot of shots around the basket. If they can finish at the rim, they'll be a tough out.
